Agree with the drinking part but there’s way more low calorie options now a days. Also switching to Vodka helps a lot. Depending on the mixer.
Yeah a shot of vodka is the lowest caloric way to get a buzz. If you can mix it with low or no calorie stuff, that's the move. Still I have a high tolerance being 6'6 220 and it adds up very quickly for me. I also get into a yolo state of mind and make really bad food decisions when I've been drinking.
All of this. And the problem with shots of vodka is they're not really enjoyable the way sipping a cocktail is. However, when I do vodka sodas with a squeeze of lime, they just go down so easy that I drink way more than I would something like an old fashioned.
Oh Yeah I’m with you on the tolerance thing. If I know I’m drinking that night I’ll take it easy food wise or get a long cardio session in the day of or before. What fucks me is if an impromptu get together happens. I’m almost 40 so that luckily that doesn’t happen much.
I eat out pretty often between work and just weekends. This sounds dumb, but it works for me. When we go to a restaurant I order a meal that is both a lighter option (like fish, or chicken breast instead of red meat) and comes with a side I don't particularly love. I wind up eating the protein and barely picking at the side, so that I wind up not consuming crazy calories.
There's nothing wrong with lean red meat and it's often the more nutritionally dense option from a micronutrients perspective especially when comparing it to chicken
I agree. But at most restaurants red meat will be served with a much richer side (mashed potatoes, etc.) that I'll wind up shoveling down. I'm at the point of my process where I'm more concerned about numbers in and numbers out. Not to say I'm unconcerned about nutritional value, as I'm making sure I eat plenty of proteins and veggies (both in salads and cooked as sides), but it's a way to enjoy eating out while still avoiding pigging out.
I haven’t started yet. I have to get a second blood draw for my insurance to cover it and haven’t gotten it yet. I’m going through a TRT clinic so it’s all legit. I’m not buying it from guy I met at the gym. It’s all through a clinic and they monitor everything.
Yeah I've known dudes who suddenly were fucking jacked like my next door neighbor and I've wondered if he did it legit or some shade tree operation. I'd want to do it under a trained professional like what it sounds like you're doing
What I noticed the first time I did it in my mid 30’s was definitely the muscle growth due to being able to lift back to back to back days, so obviously I was able to pack on some muscle. I wish I would have been more diligent in my diet as I think that would have made for even more gains. As mentioned above, I was drinking a lot and not really eating just really “clean”. My split right now is I can do shoulders and arms on consecutive days but I put at least a day before and day after of no training when I do my heavy lifts for back, chest and legs, so I don’t ever get a full week worth of working out of that makes sense. I also just got some new elbow sleeves so when I start doing heavy overhead presses my injuries are “covered”.
A lot of the TRT/HRT, anti-aging, etc clinics can get real loose with the script pad. I’ve seen some prescribe Anavar, masteron, etc. hell I’ve heard of one prescribing tren they also don’t keep tabs on your orders bc it’s through a separate compounding pharmacy. So you’re prescribed 200 or so mg/week but you just happen to order enough for 500mg/week.
Yeah I hate needles and couldn’t ever do it myself. My brother gets his in a vial from his dr and does it himself but they don’t do the lab work etc that I’m getting. I’m ok with going in once a week to get it and they check my blood pressure and any side effects to make sure everything is ok. At the end of the 6 weeks they do a full lab profile to see where im at in terms of test levels and if I need to dial it back some. I’ll prolly take a couple weeks off before I start again.
My brother gets tren from his dr. I wish I could get Anavar. That’s the only steroid I’ve ever done “black market” wise and holy shit did it rip me up. You cannot drink on it whatsoever though apparently but I did because I was in my 20’s and thought I was bulletproof. The one I am going to you go in and just get the shot each week. They don’t give you it to take home and do it yourself. I’ve heard of some that do the “pellets”. My buddy got it and said it hurt like hell but got good results
Intramuscular injections is hands down the best way to go. Way easier to control dose and side effects
Yeah I wouldn’t go the “pellet” route. I’m not even sure what all that entails other than you get a painful pellet inserted in your butt and it just gradually dissolves and gives you test? No idea. Like I said, he said it hurt like hell so no thanks.
Almost exactly that. If you are sensitive to the estrogen conversion by the time the negative effects hit it’s still in there metabolizing vs a shot where you just don’t take anymore
Ok guys, give me your best anti inflammatory techniques... all of it. Diet/supplements/whatever. I have a physically demanding job, but I don't believe I should be in as much pain as I am every day. Also, I have my first kid on the way and don't want to be completely crippled when he gets here.
Also, to add on, I'm very routine oriented and can eat basically the same thing every day without issue, so if you have a successful meal plan to reduce inflammation/joint pain, throw it in here.
I'm always looking for things in this world as well. I personally put the nordic naturals liquid fish oil (more omegas than most pills) in my skyr every day, eat a couple of squares of 90% dark chocolate, and eat nuts. Turmeric is supposed to be great, but I take enough pills already. I think the ticket is the type with black pepper mixed in.
Don't need to overthink it. lean proteins with rice or potatoes will get you 90% there. Add in some berries/oranges as desired. Greek yogurt for calcium and gut health. If you have the ability, hot/cold therapy (think legit sauna and ice tub) help with your problem. Biggest thing though is just movement. Your lymphatic system works via muscle contraction so lots of walking and low stress exercise will flush that stuff out the best
I've had tennis elbow and random gripping pains from lifting that I've had forever. Can't get it to go away
Yeah, I don't really expect to feel like I'm 25 again. I'd just like to be able to stand up without having to brace for the pain after sitting for a while.
i do so much stupid elbow work, shoulder movement, and stuff like sitting in a deep squat for a few minutes a couple times a day. im like a cat stretching every time i get up from anything.
Major issue for me as well. I hurt both legs playing softball this summer, quad strain in left leg and hamstring in right leg about a month later. All just from running hard to first base. Pretty terrible and definitely because I don’t have enough mobility in my leg muscles. I’m thinking about going to PT to work on it given we hit our family deductible for the year on my health insurance and outpatient PT doesn’t require prior authorization.
i have a really light band and do press downs to pump blood into it. it really is simple, but it has helped my elbows. trying to gently work through angles that have some stiffness seems to be pretty effective. also it’s easy to do some shoulder and lat warm ups with the bands. very good for me when ive been sitting at my desk for a while.
One of the best things I've found for inflammation is to completely cut out booze, especially bourbon and beer
Does anyone have a copy of the biggest loser excel sheet? Doing a competition with family members and didn’t want to reinvent the wheel.
so damn mad mobility training wasn't prevalent back in the day like it is now, slowly fixing all of the issues I developed over the years
