House of 1000 Corpses was solid and Devil's Rejects was ok. His Halloween films should be punishable by death. Taking away the supernatural aspect as to why The Shape is pure evil incarnate is a fucking atrocity of writing and film making.
Last film by Zombie I watched was Lords of Salem, and it was a struggle to finish. Truly awful. I will give him that his films look nice, but that's about it.
Anybody watched Mercy on Netflix? Is it worth a shit? Their original shows are awesome, but their movies tend to fall short. It looks like it wants to be The Strangers(one of my favorite movies ever) but idk.
Watched 'Deep Dark' last night, free on Hulu. Not bad, along the lines of 'Eraserhead' kind of suspense. A starving artist is on the verge of suicide before his life is changed by a talking hole in the wall.
Incredibly overhyped. I liked some of the visual and narrative tricks used in the film since he was blind but it wasn't as good as I'd hoped.
Agree on Don't Breathe. I was excited to watch it, but it did nothing for me. I didn't give a shit about any of the characters.
I liked the director of Don't Breath remake of Evil Dead waaaaay better. His biggest flaw was calling it Evil Dead. Had it been named anything else it would have been a better received film but the sound, the gore and the physical acting in that movie were spectacular.
Also. Order from best to worst is not up for debate Evil Dead 2 Army of Darkness Evil Dead classic Evil Dead remake recent
The way the time period and seasons make no fucking sense is incredible. Keeps you on edge even with nothing jumping out at you.
It Follows' soundtrack/score was perfect. I've noticed a lot of movement towards that sort of 8bit/techo in films/tv lately (not really sure what to label it, tbh).
i liked that movie too that girl was hot and if i was drunk i would have had sex with her even if she explicitly told me what would happen if i did
I enjoyed Don't Breathe. It Follows was awesome. Really need to see The Visit and Split (not really horror but still)
Watched Girl House on amazon last night, was pretty good actually for a slasher. Production value super high.
This should be interesting. One of Garrett’s last living moves was to issue a letter to the state and the media calling them out for the frauds that they were and in that letter he cursed them all. Actually cursed them! Not in an oogly-boogly sense, but in the sense that he named names and claimed that everyone would get theirs. And they did. Juror Novella Summner fell down a flight of stairs and died a few days later of complications. Juror Nathan Shackelford’s daughter died form an accidental gunshot wound to the head. His sister was run over and killed by a drunk driver. Garrett’s trial lawyer Bill Kolius died of pancreatic cancer. Garrett’s first appellate lawyer Bruce Sadler and post-conviction trial Judge Sam Kaiser contracted the same form of leukemia. Kaiser died after initially being cured. His healthy bone marrow (collected in case of recurrence) inexplicably disappeared from the hospital. Jimmy Don Boydston contracted leukemia and died. Officer Walt Yerger also died of leukemia. NBC Reporter Cathy Jones died in an airplane crash in Oklahoma while covering a story. Medical Examiner Ralph Erdemann was convicted of numerous felonies for falsifying autopsy reports. His medical license was revoked and he was sent to prison. His wife died of pancreatic cancer. Eugene “Heavy Duty” Patterson was found dead in his vehicle. A cause of death was never determined. Watley, a jailhouse snitch who testified against Garrett for a reduced sentence, committed suicide. Carol Moore, Garrett’s school teacher who testified against him at trial, also committed suicide. District Attorney Danny Hill also committed suicide. His daughter hung herself a few years later. One of Garrett’s many appellate attorneys, Jeff Blackburn lost his wife when she committed suicide. His son was accidentally locked inside a hot car in Houston and is permanently brain damaged. Ann Richards contracted cancer twice and finally succumbed to esophageal cancer.
Finally got around to seeing the witch, Liked it, but holy shit, agreed on not being able to understand anything anyone says.
The IT miniseries gave 10-year-old me the worst nightmares of my life, and I literally only saw commercials for it and maybe 2 minutes of the actual movie. Sadly, the 2nd worst nightmares I ever had were when I was 8 and they ran a bunch of documentaries about the 100th anniversary of Jack the Ripper. Because the 120+ year old killer of British whores was clearly coming after an 8yo Tennessee boy next.
Anyone seen The dark tapes? just came out on torrence. Seems kinda like VHS. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5068650/
Not very good. Started off OK with the premise but just looked cheap at times. Demon in a rubber suit type stuff.
Do you ever wonder if they are intentionally making things look fake in horror films as an homage to horror classics?
watched the Belko Experiment. Not bad, had a pretty good cast and was happy that there was an actual "ending".
Just started the Australian flick "The Loved Ones" and I swear to fucking God it infuriates me when bad things happen to animals. This asshole kidnaps this kid and stabs his dog, and i'm sitting here not at all concerned about the dumbass teenager but more worried about the dog everyone knows is about to die. Motherfucking fuck.
