Finished Hill House. Thought it was great. Think it was episode 6. One of the best hours of a series I’ve ever seen.
I've got one episode left. Really enjoyed it so far. Not only is it smart horror but you actually care for the characters as well which definitely isn't always the case with horror.
Just finished episode 5 last night, which I thought was the best one so far. Really good series, and perfect for October viewing.
Just started episode 3, can’t wait to wake up in the middle of the night thinking some ghost is about to pop out from anywhere
Watched The Babysitter the other night and loved it. Malevolent was alright, and we’re trying to decide between Hold the Dark and The Open House tonight, though the latter got quite poor reviews.
Some potential spoilers, but pretty cool https://www.google.com/amp/s/screen...l-house-hidden-ghosts-secrets-background/amp/
The 1979 original Salem’s Lot is a pretty bad movie, but it has a great scene. Two brothers get caught by vampires in the woods, and one escapes, but he has to be hospitalized from exposure to the elements from hiding outside all night. His newly made vampire brother visits him in the hospital and hypnotizes him into opening the window.
Yeah I’ve had it; but never last as long as that. 15 seconds at most; but damn is it a awful 15 seconds and feels like it’s minutes
Haunting at Hill House is soooo good. Wife and I are watching about 2-3 a night. She hates scary stuff but she likes alot of the actresses so she has been watching. We will watch Ep6 tonight.
It seems awful. I've had dreams where I felt like I couldn't move at all and woke up in a cold sweat. But being awake and not being able to move would be terrible.
That coupled with hearing voices mumbling and a shadowy figure in the corner is not as cool as it sounds.
laughed really damn hard seeing your Michelangelo avatar in my Horror Movie Thread alert he's seen some things
Been watching it with Subtitles. Sometimes a character speaks and the words flash really quick and disappear. Its usually during a tense conversation. I'm wondering if its a glitch or on purpose.
Didn’t even think about that but the whispering when not necessary for a whisper just bugged me. Like, no one around and you not even telling something that’s a secret and you’re whispering.
I have had no issue with the whisper stuff, but I am also on a big ass 7.2 system so everything is loud.
Watched Episode 1 last night. Turned the subtitles on in the first scene when the little girl says she saw the bent neck woman, after I had to rewind 3 or 4 times with no clue what she said. There would have been a few other scenes that I wouldn't have been able to hear, too, so they're staying on. Great episode, though. I'm intrigued.
Episode 10 hit me in the feels. Not sure why yet. May rewatch entire series. Feel like I missed so much that will make sense 2nd go round
Just finished. Bent neck reveal blew my fucking mind. Episode 9-10 make it seem like Spoiler Inception meets Slaughterhouse 5
Hill House was fantastic. Read an article that mentions they might do a season 2. They changed the ending last minute to leave that open, I guess the original ending was dark as hell. Now I'm binging shit horror movies.
Not sure what I "have" but I wake up/see shit in the middle of the night all the fucking time. I don't know if I'm dreaming, and I can't ever tell you what I saw, but I get this wild ass feeling like someone or something was 100% there. I hope I'm just crazy and that I'm not seeing into some other dimension or ghost world. I have this super creepy recurring night terror that my wife has arranged to have me killed in my sleep. To the point where I swear I've seen someone standing in our bedroom doorway to the hall. I'm probably going to wake one night and beat her ass for no reason at some point. Nobody doesn't try to kill me and get away with it.
I use to have night terrors as a child. Fingers crossed that Lil Bishop doesn't get them. About 6 years ago I went through a few months where I would have Sleep Paralysis. Think it was a combination of Stress and sleeping badly on a old mattress. Few times I woke up couldn't move and had a Shadow Person standing over me. I would try to scream but couldn't move and just made muffled sounds. Once I could move I actually would try to punch the Shadow and fall out of bed. Worst incident I had I had just returned from Mississippi for a wedding. We stayed at these weird old cabins that use to be slave housing. They used some of them in the movie The Help (http://www.tallahatchieflats.com/welcome.html). Well we get back home and that night I have a dream that I am back in Mississippi on the property. I was running down a hill from something and came apon a Slave/Voodoo guy that was all dressed up and holding a severed head in his hand. I wake up but cannot move. The bedroom door is open and I can see down the hall way into another bedroom where the Voodoo man is still standing holding the head and screaming at me. I did not go back to sleep that night.
Watched Trick R Treat (2009) last night. That’s a pretty fun horror movie that i’d never heard of. Kinda like creepshow where there are four different stories going on and it’s more macabre humor than actually scary.
One night I heard footsteps in the hallway outside my room and then my bedroom door slammed hard as hell. The kind of slam I'd chew my kids' ass for if they were being crazy. Get up immediately ready to go ask them why they're doing that in the middle of the night (they were prob 2 and 4 at the time) expecting to see one in the bathroom or heading back to their rooms. Both were fast asleep under their covers.
Sort of related but a buddy of mine had a girl he was sort of dating show up at his house in the middle of the night to surprise him while he was asleep. He woke up with her standing over him and instinctively kicked her right in the face. Can't say I blame him. Would have scared the shit out of me too.
Netflix got rid of trick r treat damnit. So I'm watching Death Note, I enjoy it, it's underrated imo plus it has Lakeith Stanfield and he is great.
gf and I are planning a trip to Savannah, GA and want to stay in one of those haunted hotels. Anybody have any experience that?
