When you coming man? I live there now. These are all pretty good and close to where you'll want to be. The Marshall House was used as a hospital during the Civil War. You should also do a hearse tour or else a haunted pub crawl. https://www.hauntedrooms.com/8-haunted-hotels-savannah-ga
Wife and I stayed in 17Hundred90, really liked it, and there’s allegedly a ghost that haunts one of the rooms. Great location and pretty reasonable. Well stay there again.
Yeah I think the 17hundred90, Marshall House, and East Bay Inn are the only ones on that list that are halfway reasonably priced. The others are pretty small so I imagine they are gonna be expensive as hell. The Foley House is the one that I've heard the most about and there's actually a pretty good deal on it and 17hundred90 right now Guns : https://www.booking.com/searchresul...utm_source=metatripad&utm_term=hotel-2003124&
Wife and I stayed at Marshall House and had a good experience. She's too scared to do the ghost tour stuff though :(
I’ve stayed at the east bay and 17hundred90, much preferred the 1790. Rooms are essentially in big rooms from old guest houses with en suite bathrooms. Really cool place, good breakfast and a fantastic staff that recognized my one year old by name every morning and was just absolutely great.
Also the bar isn’t bad, and if you’re going during football season and you’re staying at the hotel, they’ll throw whatever game you want on the bar tv for you. Restaurant in the main part of the hotel was good as well.
Highly recommend. Nothing happened to me, but was creepy as hell knowing the history and all the ghost stores leading up to the stay. https://www.myrtlesplantation.com/
That would be so hard to pull off. Really need to find a new location, get a first rate actor and not be CGI hokey with the residents. I like the idea of going after it again but it needs to be perfect or else it is going to suck in the eyes of people that love the first. After a quite place I think Krazinksy could pull off the lead. Location and director are really hard to determine.
I accidentally rented this version one time from blockbuster. I was so pissed when I got home. It was absolutely atrocious.
Remake was filmed in the Stanley Hotel though, and Kubrick's failure to film there is one of the main reasons Stephen King hates the original film so much.
The wife is gone tonight and I don't have shit to do. I might watch both, but if I only have time to do one, should I start binging Hill House or watch Hereditary?
I would disagree, both are really really good but Hill house was a don't get up to pee type thing for me after the first couple eps.
Only through 3 or 4 eps. I love it so far. I just consider Hereditary a modern classic. One of my favorite movies of any genre in the past few years
Completely agree, but if I am home alone I'm blowing through as much of the ~11 hours as I can without getting bitched at. Hereditary you can watch in a couple hours and not get fussed at especially if the wife likes horror even a bit. Getting someone to binge something that long seems like a headache.
My wife hates Horror movies/shows but likes Hill house, which is somewhat surprising. She looks away half the time and asks when a specific part is over. I dont get it.
Going to force my wife to watch Hill House even though we have a big Netflix backlog, she's making me watch Maniac so I want to watch that next. Has great reviews.
I'd lay them side by side honestly, but Hill House is fresh and I have not rewatched Hereditary. I think I like HH better but that may be recency bias. Both are really damn good.
Hereditary was a good flick. I wasn’t knocking it. Hill House did a great job of being creepy, dramatic, tense, etc. Episode 6 as many people have said was just such a great hour. It’s probably the best Netflix original series
It's ok, the thriller fan in me is just curious like where the fuck is it leading, but it's confusing to me tbh. I'm like 5 episodes in and barely know what's up.
That's the kind of thing that gets me excited, my wife hates horror but I tell her this will be different.
We’re binging Ozark right now so I doubt she has time to binge another show. I also don’t want her scared as shit and unable to sleep like it sounds like she might be after watching hereditary. She likes horror but more like slasher type goofy films. The strangers and paranormal activity scared the ever living hell out of her for weeks.
Went home for lunch and watched the first episode before my phone interview. I am excited for what comes my way.
Going to see Halloween tomorrow night, and somehow my wife has never seen the original, so we’re watching that tonight. Hoping to get Halloween II in as well so she’ll be fully caught up.
No argument here. I also thought a quiet place was extremely overhyped. Enjoyed it, but thought it was over praised
