It's fine. Complete rip-off of The Ring/Ringu but it's not a bad watch.

i was all in until his tablet broke outside and then reappeared, I also was quite high and wasn’t sure if it was the same tablet or not. I’m honestly still not 100% sure.

I have learned to trust shudder through, their originals tend to be quite good.

Looks like I’m one of the only ones that enjoyed the new Hellraiser. I was super high while watching so maybe that helped

I'm trying to watch a horror type movie every day this month. Already fell behind, but so far I've watched:

    1) Gonjiam Haunted Asylum - It took a while to get going, but it was good once shit started going down. I think Grave Encounters did the same formula better. Still a really fun watch. 7/10

    2) Fall - It's about a couple of thrill seekers that get stuck on top of a tower. Anxiety inducing, but I hated the ending. 4/10 because of the ending, but it's still worth a watch if you don't have to pay for it.

    3) Final Destination 5? - (The one where a bridge collapses). I've watched a few of these, probably not all of them, but I loved the previous ones for what they are. A water droplet somehow will lead to a ridiculously dumb chain events causing a gruesome death scene. I always laugh at the random ass bullshit deaths in these movies. 5/10

    4) Blair Witch (the most recent sequel) -- I watched the first one a long time ago and forgot about it for the most part, so I don't think you need to watch the previous ones to watch this one. This one was decent, nothing special, which is a shame because I love Adam Wingard's other films. 5/10

    5) Bodies Bodies Bodies - Not really sure how to describe this one other than it's more of a who-dun-it comedy. I liked it but will probably never watch it again. 6/10

    6) Nope - Absolutely loved this one. Don't really want to say much about it as I went in watching it without knowing anything about it and think that's the best way to approach this one. I don't think horror movies need to be scary, and this one wasn't scary at all (except for maybe a few of the earlier creepy scenes before you figure out what's going on). Anyway, this one was a blast, but probably Jordan Peele weakest film so far. Still give it an 8/10

    7) Old - I've also loved most of M. Night Shyamalan's movies even though they're a mixed bag. Old was definitely not top-tier, and the acting was soap-opera bad. Rufus Sewell was the least bad, but even he was bad. However, this movie also had the all time great character name of "Mid Size Sedan." I really liked the premise/plot, so overall enjoyed it despite the actors being a pile of garbage. I also just realized that Shyamalan cameos in all of his movies apparently. 6/10

    8) The Wolfman - This is the recent retelling with Anthony Hopkins and Benecio Del Toro. The movie is a little cheesy, but you can tell the budget was massive. Sets/costumes, etc. look awesome. I've always loved werewolf movies, and I think this was a pretty good one. 6/10. Side note, this one made me want to watch the Alvin & the Chipmunks Werewolf movie with my daughter, which is a 10/10 classic.

    9) I also started the "Pouhkeepsie Tapes." I turned it off after like 10 minutes because it was shit. Maybe it gets better, but I wasn't feeling it. Is is worth keeping on or is it just quasi-snuff? The director also did "As Above So Below" which is in my top 10 of horror movies more recently released, so it's a shame I didn't get into this one.

Pouhkeepsie Tapes is a fake snuff film pretty much. It's unsettling but not in the way that I want in a horror movie. Not my jam.

I didn't notice anything being too dark to see. To me, the picture quality was actually more "viewable" than most found footage stuff out there

On a 10-point scale, I'd give it somewhere around a 6 or a 7. Worth a watch but not good enough to make it on my annual list.

Non-horror horrific movies worth watching this holiday season: Begotten, Come and See, Holy Mountain, Trash Humpers, THREADS, Crash (1996) are worth a watch if you want to be thoroughly uncomfortable and sad.

also the first episode of CHERNOBYL

Both are good choices. Just saw the trailer for Terrifier 2. Had a short article with it saying it’s one of the goriest movies ever made and people were fainting in the theater. I don’t put too much stock into those “reports” since it’s likely just marketing for the movie. But the first one was good so I’ll prob give this one a shot.

The dichotomy of X is really fucking fun. Ton of thoughtful and layered themes throughout which really play well with a porn/horror schlock B-movie which is viewed as 1 dimensional.

Watched the first two Hell House LLCs for the first time today. The first was incredible. Easily my favorite found footage film. It had me legitimately scared several times.

The second was good but couldn't live up to the first one. They tried to do too much imo. Should've just kept it simple like the first.
