As a parent to a kid with food allergies, it's on you to manage and be vigilant about that. That means carefully choosing food options, and out right avoiding places (like 5 Guys or Texas Roadhouse) with a high risk of exposure. It's not on minimum wage employees to protect your kids.

I completely understand the context and his mindset, no parent is sane and rational when their child is in potentially mortal danger. that makes total sense and I'd be at home or ER probably cursing the shit out of those kids even if it was ultimately my fault this happened. that said, at no point in time would I ever get in my car to go berate teenagers and throw things at them. these are why managers and corporate exist, so that when I'm sure my son isn't going to die of an allergic reaction I talk with them about what happened and why it happened and try to rectify the situation or prevent it from happening again. that's just such an unhinged reaction, you just can't do it.
