The more comprehensive answer is that this thread functions mostly as a place where not-Trump-GOP people complain about the horror-show we are bracing for. It's also a lot disaffected republicans who find their party doesn't represent them and maybe are now questioning the viability what their core tenets to begin with. There is a far stronger left skew than, say, the libertarian thread, but that and the GOP thread are pretty much quiet. There's more GOP activity in the trumpisscalypse thread if you count powe and farva as the representative GOP vanguard on TMB now. I do because they prettty much are the closest approximation of what the party is now so yeah

Thats actually the least surprising thing they do. Selling the idea of the American Dream and exceptionalism is such an easy sell. Everyone wants to believe with hard work they can be the 1%. Too bad they can't move on from the ideal of being part of the 1% to realize the actual American Dream has changed. People want a fair economy that works for everyone.
