Very good episode. Episode #112 ... The Frankfurt School pt. 5 - Civilization. http://traffic.libsyn.com/philosophizethis/Eros_and_Civilization_pt_2.mp3?dest-id=144660
It's a good day for the Left, gentlemen. Made 600 GOTV calls in VA after work. I'm so stoked right now.
The trans woman ran as moderate focused on transportation issues. I have no doubts that there are localities like Charlottesville where democratic socialists can sustainably win elections, but the Virginia coalition was fueled by bland suburban moderates, not the left.
I think Tuesday just showed that people care about the issues (healthcare, economy, jobs, etc.) above all else. Danica focused on issues affecting her community, and that worked. That doesn't mean people have to compromise on their core beliefs as it relates to inequality, race issues, LGBTQ, etc.
Early last week, we got to see a bit of the flurry that’s preceding the Winter is Coming warnings of 2018. For the first time in a year, it felt like hope, didn’t it? And one of the things that was most affecting was the realization of how important every single vote was in the winners’ victories. Need proof? In Milledgeville, the city will now have its first female mayor due to a race that was decided by a mere 6 VOTES! In College Park, an incumbent City Council member was defeated by only 2 VOTES! In Doraville, the first transgender City Council member claimed her victory by only 6 VOTES! In Marietta, an incumbent School Board member was defeated by only 42 VOTES! The top two (both Democratic) vote-getters in the House District 60 race are only separated by 47 VOTES! And we’ve seen dozens more stories like this throughout the country where Democrats took down Republicans en masse, sometimes by the smallest of margins. It feels great to win, but let’s not get complacent. Let’s keep up the work that got us here. For starters, if you still know people who think their votes don’t matter, then show them this. NOTHING MATTERS MORE! https://us15.campaign-archive.com/?u=adf0b06391125c8ef3fa8a9d8&id=82d7127402
In Georgia we now have at least 1 Democrat challenger or the incumbent is a Democrat in all 14 House districts for '18 elections.
I just recently got naturalized and am registering to vote for the first time. Should I register in the 6th where my parents live or the 12th where I am currently for school? (ie which district will be more competitive?
The 6th for sure. Handel barely won (if she won at all - what did Kemp want to cover up so badly he had the voting machines wiped?).
This is funny because I didn't know if she was transgender or not and voted for her. I thought she might be, but it literally never came up. Kind of awesome imo.
Big shocker that the couple in this picture want to shut down Kentucky's last abortion clinic (and all clinics nationwide). 7 kids, has to sell this shit on the road side to get money, no doubt they are on government assistance. Also use to be a "dancer".
In last night’s special election in Oklahoma, Democrat Allison Ikley-Freeman has defeated Republican Brian O’Hara 50.5% to 49.4% for the District 37 state Senate seat. She won by 31 votes.
We know the asshole Republicans would never do it, so I challenge you on the Left to extend your empathetic arms to support this poor transgender transracial.....human. 'Transracial' man, born white, says he feels Filipino https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...-born-white-says-he-feels-filipino/858043001/
who cares?? Are you talking about the trans/trans person?? Who cares? I dunno, how about society?? Please don't be insensitive.
there is no axe. I was hoping the left woudl embrace this person and defend his rights. Rejecting someone like this sounds like something the Right would do, no?
Do you think he needs help to resolve his transgender issues or his transracial issues, or both? What if he is normal and we are the ones who need help to understand who he really is? Your response feels a little bit like telling a gay person that you support them in getting the help they need, which I don't think is your intention (correct me if I'm wrong).
For the sake of humanity, I hope your wife is one of those crazy people who methodically drowns all your children in a bathtub
hey! I wasn't talking about me, silly! anyways, how do you feel about trasracial people? something we need to embrace and support in their transition? Mentally ill people? Somewhere in between?
