I was born a man but I think I'm a woman. (this is fine) I was born white but I think I'm Filipino. (omg how weird!) I struggle to understand how the above examples are seemingly polar opposite, no matter which side you take. They seem basically similar, at the very least. Yet, by and large, they are treated as completely different scenarios. I suppose this is weird, but I don't see how fostering the idea that you can be something different than what you biologically are, based solely on how you feel, is limited ONLY to gender. Yet here we are. Then you have geniuses like Mister Me wasting half a page to appear to argue that they are the same, or tap dancing around it, before admitting that he thinks transgender people are real and honest, but transracial people are fake and lying.

Too many of us on the Left are starting to buy into this narrative that Trump and the GOP's actions will mean amazing wins in '18 no matter what. It's like we already forgot what happened 1 year ago. Take nothing for granted, work harder knowing that if we do not transform our government it will lead to even worse policy.

While resisting is important, those of us on the left need to start right away putting in work toward November. The only way to really change things is going to be at the voting booth. Join your local Democrat party. Find a set of candidates you believe in for all the open offices support them. People are needed to knock on doors, to make calls, even something passive like having a yard sign. And if you are able, donating helps get the message in front of more people.

Broke up the GOP super majority in GA's senate by picking up 2 seats, picked up 2 more seats in GA's House, won the Atl Mayor runoff, and my personal friend Kevin Madden trounced the former GOP Peachtree City Mayor in a runoff for PTC Town Council 3rd precinct.
