This is fine this is fine Disturbing report on Trump’s national security adviser emerges on pro-Putin website Gen. Flynn’s son suspected as source.
big 12 thread icon. the prospect of talking about football in that conference should scare away all but the most dedicated visitors.
Sympathetic but cowardly petite bourgeoisie checking in When you come for me comrades, please, make it quick
Jesus guys. We have a new thread, let's at least attempt to ignore board retards for the first 50 pages or so. I never saw a slow down of the old thread. Every thread has been pretty quick and snappy since the update.
I was always really socially liberal. Hated the idea of American imperialism from a young age as it annoyed me my dad was gone for 6mos at a time in the middle east during the various Desert Storm/Shield conflicts and other cruises. Initially didn't like the idea of taking money from ppl (taxes), remember my mom (liberal) joking to my dad (Conservative) about me being a Republican. That changed pretty quickly as I grew up from.being a preteen. Punk Rock helped me hate capitalist pigs
Democrats have no ability to stop any of these nominations, it'll take Republicans turning on their own; and they've already made it clear they don't give a fuck about corruption. He's getting through, DeVos is getting through, Tillerson is getting through, everyone is getting through. And Schumer is insulting the intelligence of those who pay attention by saying Price won't get through.
Literally 100% chance she gets confirmed. Her family has given so much money to conservative candidates, and they aren't going to bite the hand that feeds.
I have never identified with a party, probably stems from being a first-generation American with 2 absolutely clueless immigrants for parents.
my parents have never voted R and I'm more left wing than they are. i got my mom to vote for Bernie, but it wasn't hard because she loathes the Clintons
So I sklipped a few pages that I assume were filled with child porn (glad i finally decided to ignore powe considering I'm reading this thread at work). Grew up Dem. My dad was one of those old south Dems. Mom grew up pretty liberal. Was Dem until I started seeking information and have gone further and further left. I'm to the point I hate capitalism now but i can still appreciate a lot of what Obama did in office given our current system.
My dad is a centerist Republican, big Bush guy, but less hard right than his dead. Mom is a lifetime liberal. Love both my parents but my Mom is more intelligent than my Dad and I have had more quality discussions with her. Brother voted for Romney and HRC. I have always voted straight Democrat. Feel like growing up during Bush administration (I was 9 in 2000) has molded me into a lifelong democrat. That Presidency was extremely frustrating.
Ah Bush...the nostalgia is welling up...a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away where republicans had a semblance of an ethos
I was up until just recently. I've always leaned left on social issues. The GOP of recent years is absolutely not aligned with my beliefs or values on pretty much any subject.
Well shit...I'm in a rock and a hard place. If Tom Price doesn't get pushed through I guess that's great, but then I guess I get to have him back as my district's house representative? FUCK
Both parents are Dems while like 90% of their friends are Republicans. Leaned right in college due to the bubble I was in but things changed after that.
That's pretty sobering. White, working class voters aren't educated enough to have a discussion about the ACA. Obama has an 8 minute answer for improving the existitng ACA centered around increasing subsidies, an answer that those benefitting from those subsidies probably don't really understand. Trump says in a soundbite sized phrase "Repeal and replace with something great." Not shocked our culture has created an electorate that can't digest an 8 minute answer but falls hook, line and sinker for a brief soundbite. Idiocracy here we come. That one lady was a perfect example. Insurance through the ACA, didn't know federal subsidies helped pay for her insurance, didn't believe Trump when he said he'd repeal ACA, did believe Trump when he said he'd replace it with something better and detested the ACA when referred to as Obamacare. Not that race played any role in that. Hard not to pity those people.
Grew up conservative. My father is as conservative as they come outside of one or two small things. My mother is mostly apolitical but she's southern so she leans right by default. As I have mentioned before, I was highly involved in the Young Republican chapter at my high school. It wasn't until I got to senior year and college that I realized the GOP was consistently illogical and cared very little about other people. The social issues really cemented me center left and the ridiculous nature of this most recent election has only pushed me deeper and deeper into the antifa, comrades. Would be really hard to imagine taking the party or people that elected this jackass seriously ever again.
grew up without politics in my household but have been Democrat since about 16-18 I'm currently somewhere between Bernie Sanders and Joshua Lyman
