this sport should be much more popular than it is folks #Nebraska Cornhuskers and #Purdue Boilermakers in a great set rn
Damn...it is a shame on all of us that this thread didn't exist till now. Tyfys GoodForAnother GBR! and EMAW nfm
Also, the sport is growing super fast. Tons of programs setting all sorts of attendance records this year and ratings are greatly increasing for all the networks that air matches.
We've taken my girls to several of the Clemson games. Our team's not very good, but they've enjoyed them as they're playing rec volleyball.
iirc the final four is on espn this year instead of streaming. that will be big like it was for womens bball
Ftr...other schools that have notable fanbases on T-MB and have quality programs, join in #Ohio State Buckeyes #Florida Gators #Oregon Ducks #Texas Longhorns #Penn State Nittany Lions #Tennessee Volunteers #Minnesota Golden Gophers #Auburn Tigers #Kansas Jayhawks #Arkansas Razorbacks #UCF Knights Spoiler Need not apply: #Wisconsin Badgers Emma
Yes I think The Hebrew Husker is correct. Final Four and some other tourney matches were primarily on ESPN2 but natty is going to network ABC this year. Networks/Advertisers are noticing
It’s awesome in person. I remember sitting like 3rd row on the baseline at the Final 4 a few years ago and seeing the movement on the serves is crazy.
Been coaching now for about 5 years, youth to middle school/HS now. Volleyball is completely dominating numbers and interest for HS and younger girls over basketball, soccer and softball. (Currently second only to T&F by a couple thousand participants) only getting bigger as time goes on.
we have a new coach and are 8-4. most exciting thing rn is we have a brand new dedicated arena. some optimism about the team and new coach tho. just took down devine in straight sets
Saw pics of that arena before the season. Looks sweet. There's only a handful of schools that have an arena that's primary purpose is volleyball. I'd imagine that'll help you guys pretty big with recruiting.
Your strategy of taking the Nebraska girls just not good enough to make the Huskers is gonna pay off. Nebraska club vb produces insane talent per capita
It sets the stage for us to tear down Ahearn Fieldhouse which is really sad because of the bball history there but will open up valuable campus space and save huge amounts of maintenance
Checked out a couple mins of a Hawaii match the other day that was on TV and they have a freshman from Omaha that was killing it that I've never even heard of. There's so many crazy good female athletes in this state. Louisville's setter was a top 15 recruit in the country from Wahoo and we didn't even recruit her because our class was full.
I'm sure you guys will be back. Gonna take some time to replace a coach who is on the Mount Rushmore of best coaches of all time in the sport.
Do they play at Carolina Coliseum. Wish we had renovated that and never moved to CLA. No character at all
I pointed her out and she walked right past us when we were in the gate line. You were too busy oggling the basketball guy who was being hit on by the white girls apparently. can confirm, tall af. Had to straighten my posture
