Started this today. Off to a great start. This is the type of show I love. Can already tell I'm going to run through these 2 seasons fast.
Ended up just watching the last episode of the new release to try and get closer. Glad I didn’t waste more time on watching every episode. Payoff not there
Anyone watch Oxygen? Thoughts? Also, this girl always gives good reccos and 4 of the 5 reccos are on Netflix 5. Witcher season 2 4. The Chestnut Man 2. Shadow and Bone 1. Midnight Mass Lastly, if you never watched Darkest Hour do yourself a favor and watch. Gary Oldman, as always, is phenomenal.
Spoiler I knew about him going in, but my wife didn’t. When they got to the interview about halfway through where his girlfriend goes “an avalanche could take you out randomly at any time.” I was a real life weebey.gif
I thought it was a good social commentary on motherhood, aspirations, and personal life. I've noticed people complaining about Coleman's character and I believe that lacks nuance (also folks seemed to forget that it was a psychological drama). It's going to be Netflix's oscar card for sure.
Dos personas de la pelicula The Alpinist estan loco y joven y probablmente ellos moriran en un montaña eventualmente
How do climbers and people like that make enough money to just like climb all over the world and stuff. Like I get they are prob paid to climb by documentary producers they get involved with, but it seems like these guys just go all over the world constantly and climb stuff and junk. That’s p tight.
The elite ones are sponsored. Even Nims in 14 Peaks had to work to get $$$ I believe the term for everyday climbers is "dirtbags"... a la Marc Andre Le Clerc
Marc was essentially homeless the entire documentary. Nims wasn’t much better off didn’t he remortgage his house or something to pay for it all?
They had several scenes of Nims stressing about how to finance the next leg of his venture. I pictured him just going go fund me style and continuously hitting people up for donations but idk. He seemed like he was working hard to whip the supporters
Le Clerc literally lived in a tent in the woods. He probably hitchhiked and couch surfed for most of his travels. I’m guessing some sponsorships got him to Patagonia.
Yvon Chinouard ate dog food before Patagonia took off. There is a great doc called Dirtbag - The Legend of Fred Blecky that you get to see how a true dirt bag lives. He eats like shit, sleeps on the ground anywhere and is taking trips to climb places he has no reason attempting because of his age. They imply that he has a bunch of money in the stock market and he has the means to live a comfortable life. Homelessness is just hardwired in those dudes.
Marc André wasn’t just in BC and Patagonia he was also in places like Scotland and all over Canada as well but I’m sure sponsorships get them to places to climb which is why they are super active on social media. the only thing that struck me as out of place was Brit being on a sailboat in Tasmania at the end and then immediately flying to Alaska with no notice.
What is the difference in the higher quality programming that Netflix offers for a premium? I’ve never noticed much, but watched Don’t Look Up tonight and thought the quality sucked on the regular that I’m paying for
Wife and I like watching realestate shows on our lunch break so tried watching Amazing Vacation Rentals and boy these insta twats are insufferable and I want to just hold the guy's face down in s shallow puddle
He likes "experiences." The other two fight over who can get the most "luxury" room. Meanwhile Luis is like I'll take the loft where I can see the stars
TC and I have had this debate itt before. I'm on your side, can't stand him but that's also because I already couldn't stand him when he was on Million Dollar Listing NY years ago.
I also enjoyed "Worlds Most Amazing Homes" for fans of Amazing Vacation Rentals. Different hosts but scratched the same kind of itch for me
I thought he meant better shows/ movies, haha. Id be interested to hear how the higher resolution tier looks
I used to subscribe to the highest quality Netflix tier, so 4K and I have 100 Mbps internet. Most of the time Netflix would stream fine on my TV via Roku however it would freeze and buffer some. It was annoying enough that I downgraded to the 2nd tier and it hasn't happened once since.
However Netflix streams, it seems to work better than most any other app. I rarely/never experience lag/buffer/low quality, and that's with Mrs. TC streaming something else and playing with her phone in another room with a basic broadband connection
There are very few things I can control in my spending, but one is monthly bills. You should know this.
