Get that west coast road trip though also, I don't think we're going to play each other anymore......so damn....we had ourselves some slobbaknockaz
yeah I may be berkeleyin’ next year completely agree on your 2nd point. A fun series lost due to greed. It’s why I hated expansion long before it looked like we were going to be on the outside looking in.
Agreed. We finally had the beginnings of a football rivalry forming with UNC and now we are going to go 4 years without playing them. So dumb.
we're somehow gonna end up with Louisville/Virginia T squaring off in a rematch for the ages in Charlotte and it will be glorious
I'm watching nc state - miami when the lsu and usc games are on. Irrational interest in this conference is one of my worst qualities
feel I should clarify because this is poorly worded and makes it seem like people were calling for him over Drake, there isn't much confidence in what we've got next year so people are thinking about the qb's they'd like to snag in the upcoming offseason, TvD had some steam a few weeks back
Also Doeren becomes the winningest coach in Wolfpack history, and in the most NC State thing ever, the guy he passed had an overall losing record. Fun stuff.
If nc state miraculously wins out they’re going to feel terrible about blowing that Louisville game. Wouldn’t have been playing worthy obviously but would have had a really nice bowl game.
Oh I’m aware, my brother and extended family are big fans. I went there for grad school during the Glennon days. I’ve never seen such apathy from all of them about all sports.
Welcome to ACC football. We only get excited about basketball and women’s Olympic sports. And academics
He’s got decent odds of winning 8+ games for the 6th time in the last 7 years. It’s not anything to celebrate relative to top programs, but that’s unheard of for us. So I’m ok with it, despite his glaring faults as a coach.
I just mean he's a sniveling wet noodle bitch masquerading as a tough guy. It's hilarious he spent any energy at all firing at Steve Smith's unserious throwaway remark from Game Day selections last week, but you could clearly see how wounded he was by it. If he had more time on his hands he'd be the guy online calling everyone snowflakes while getting his feelings hurt at everything. But yes he's done a fine job of not having the kind of catastrophic seasons that get coaches fired
I think every coach tilts at windmills to motivate their team. Kirby and Saban are incredible at finding slights and making them into villains. He’s definitely salty about some of that stuff, but his teams embody it, play tough football, and they play their asses off for him, which can’t be said about some coaches who are smoother with a mic in front of them.
Agreed, but there's a difference between motivational tactics behind the scenes beforehand and whinging to the nation after the fact
Meh, if Ryan Day can talk shit to a dementia addled Lou Holtz, I don’t care if Doeren goes back and forth with Steve Smith, so long as he’s winning while doing it. Im sure the regular CW audience will recover from the outburst. He’s insecure in the exact same way the fanbase is, which is interesting because he definitely felt the calls for a “better” coach when he was 4-3. As if a better coach exists for NC State football.
Day going at Holtz was even more pathetic But we're getting lost in the sauce, just wanted to give a recent example of why his tough guy shtick always feels laced with sensitivity to me. I still acknowledge he does a good job of getting his teams to play with the energy he tries to exude.
It feels like he/his fam are overplaying their hand here trying to up the NIL money. His 4 games of below average tape does not create the leverage they seem to think it does.
I'm not sure if it's that so much as realizing that he hasn't been good which means we'll be bringing in another transfer QB this offseason (so he'll be in the same position as this year hoping the transfer doesn't play up to standard).
Could be, either way it feels like a big misplay. Like he had a chance to show out more against some weaker defenses coming up and then hold his hand out, but instead he just quit. I don’t see anyway he comes back.
seen Brennan enough to know he doesn't complete that pass out of the endzone to get that 99 yard drive going
