by that time fsu will have hired Urban and we’ll just have another all time 5 year run holding us back from our true glory
dang, got lost in all of this LSU/Bama hysteria and just now saw Miami with 52 on Louisville and Virginia T up 12 on Wake in the 3rd also Hoos almost got Georgia T'd
Coastal is as follows: UVA has one game left: vs VT. Win and they're in. Pitt has three games left: vs UNC, @VT, vs BC. They must win out and I believe VT must beat UVA and other fuckery but they still have an out for the division title. VT has three games left: @GT, vs Pitt, @UVA. They have three scenarios. Scenario one is obviously just winning out, this makes them 6-2 and the sole #1. Scenario two is they could lose GT game provided they beat Pitt and UVA, giving them tiebreakers over both teams (they also have wins over UNC and Miami in case those teams finish 5-3 and I don't think Duke, even with their tiebreaker over VT, could win a three-way or four-way tie with VT because of VT's other wins in the Coastal). Scenario three is they could beat GT and UVA while losing to Pitt provided Pitt drops another game. Miami has one game left: @Duke. I'm not entirely sure if Miami is still in the race because everyone except VT and UVA currently has some fucky losses and wins against other Coastal teams. UNC has two games left: @ Pitt and @NCSU. See Miami. Duke has three games left: vs Cuse, @WF, vs Miami. See Miami. GT: lol At a bare minimum, everyone else in the conference must hope that VT beats UVA for any of their teams to have a shot and then most likely hope that Pitt beats VT and that Pitt drops a game to UNC or BC and so on.
Shig, I interrupt this thread to tell you I've been off the sauce since the NL champ series. HOWEVAH, tonight I am drinj. That's right......drinj
Thursday UNC @ Pittsburgh (-4.5) Saturday Alabama St @ FSU Wake Forest @ Clemson (-32.5) Virginia Tech (-5.5) @ Georgia Tech Syracuse @ Duke (-12) Louisville (-4) @ NC State
not sure if there is a path for unc even in that convoluted mess. need miami to be one of the tied parties instead of vt to make it work since uva and vt have the tiebreaker over us
sucks for them but they were going to lose to Clemson and beat Cuse regardless so that should only have an effect against Duke.
Yeah Miami people have been eyeing this option the last couple weeks if we some how when out. Hope for UVA or VT to go get slaughtered by Clemson ensuring no other ACC team is ranked now that Wake is falling off and hope the OB picks the canes for the ACC replacement for Clemson
Lucky for you, a not-insignificant portion of UVA's fans appear to not want to go to the Orange Bowl, in favor of a more winnable bowl game. For some reason.
at first glance i thought this said "eyeing the option" as in going after a triple option coach and i got excited bc the coastal should always have a terrible knee destroying offense
We of the UNC delegation were also talking about that possiblity before losing to UVA, we were 4-4 at the time, wild stuff
remember when we played in the MicronPC bowl against Fresno St because we didn't accept a better bowl bid because of exams or something?
Honestly if UVA beats VT we might sneak back into the rankings but let's all be honest with ourselves here that isn't going to happen.
read a nifty reddit thread for the Coastal: - GT is out of contention - UNC and/or Duke can finish tied for 1st place but neither is capable of winning any potential tiebreakers (but you can still hang a banner somewhere) - Pitt must win out AND VT must beat UVA OR Pitt must beat VT and GT while losing to BC AND VT must beat GT and UVA AND Duke must beat Wake and Cuse and Miami. - Miami must beat Duke AND GT and Pitt must beat VT AND BC must beat Pitt. - VT must win one of GT/Pitt and must beat UVA - UVA must beat VT OR GT and Pitt must beat VT AND Duke must beat Miami There is also one scenario where the second Pitt scenario I laid out plus an NCSU win over UNC will give UVA the Coastal.
UVA has to beat VT, the rest is noise. Unfortunately, the last time UVA beat VT I was a virgin studying for the PSATs. Luckily I don't have to worry about the PSATs anymore!
that's the last UVA home game i have been to. i had sex with my sister's best friend lindsay that night.
