UNC being incapable of beating VT with 1st round QBs is fucking hilarious. not just that but the QBs look like pure ass to boot.
I think you can take stock in the way our OL played though, for all their dominance last year particularly in run blocking there were still 3 games in FSU/ND/A&M where they laid absolute eggs, could probably add UVA in there too but we threw it all over them still. A massive part of our optimism was the OL returning everyone and taking that next step, but the early returns are pretty damning.
tend to agree but if I was a Heel I'd be more concerned about the dearth of skill position talent because I think the OL has a better chance of unfucking itself. you don't have anyone to run the ball and Downs is the only dude that's a threat downfield. people are just going to load up, dare Howell to take time to throw deep, and bully you in the box with numbers.
have to say that Clemson and Miami looking like shit against similar competition to what we faced has me feeling a little better tonight
Paul Johnson was such a shitheel that I'm pretty sure I permanently hate GT and anytime they lose is cause for celebration.
hurt but they were down 14-0 at that point and he was 2/8 passing with a fumble so while losing your starting QB is almost always the root cause of a loss I'm not sure that was the case here.
1) bc trashy people and trash typically gets into wasting what little money they have on useless car modifications 2) bc people stop being able to see what's in front of them on the road, creating a danger.
It’s been referred to as the Aynor Squat for 15+ years at Clemson, and it’s apparently spread slowly across the Carolinas. It needs a law because it’s a safety hazard due to the nose being up in the air. Or were you suggesting that it should be taken care of via a grass roots movement of public shaming?
The headlights excuse is bs. A 6-8in lift is way worse with headlights to the eyes than a squatted truck.
Something being "worse" doesn't mean that the comparative issue isn't also bad. It's currently illegal to lift a vehicle more than 6" in NC anyway, and this new bill would drop that to 3" in the front and 2" lowered in the back. Obviously people are gonna do what people are gonna do tho.
Send that shit to ESPN, get it on College Gameday. last week was pretty batshit even relative to what can happen in that stadium. top 5-6 environment in Lane history imo.
"that's not football" is such a hilarious insight to the spectator sport mentality of UNC fan culture
TIL MTSU's starting QB is Bailey Hockman, former NCSU starter and the guy VT roughed up so badly at the start of 2020's season. will be interesting to see if VT can keep tormenting him this week. also MTSU has a starting RT that is a true freshman and is only 6'3 275. that just can't be good.
He’s smart and reasonably mobile but just doesn’t have the arm to stretch the field and that too often meant he threw ducks that got picked. He’s a solid QB but to go from FSU to MTSU is quite the fall. Can’t imagine this weekend goes well but he’d occasionally get hot and have some really good games.
they apparently have three freshmen starting on the line, given what I saw last week I would imagine he's not in for a fun time.
we were both wrong- FSU. Can’t believe I forgot that. Unless you meant he was a uga commit before fsu, which a quick Google confirms. UGA to FSU to NC State to MTSU
Speaking of FSU trash that rolled through Raleigh how are the 2 transfers this year fairing? is durden still fat? and I honestly don't remember the other one
Durden is in good shape but did need to drop a few when he enrolled. mostly played at nose against USF behind CJ Clark, believe he had a pressure leading to a pick. was much more impressed with Cyrus Fagan in week 1, had a pick and 7 tackles. We’ll know more about him starting this week.
I think both Fagan and Durden will both be at worst pseudo starters by the end of the year. Fagan especially seems to have bought in. It’s almost like coming into a stable team with a positive culture and structure can help people.
Don’t know anything about Fagan before being at State but pretty big fan so far. Dude brings it when he’s tackling, plays with a ton of energy, and seems to be a big team guy. Durden didn’t play a ton first game but I watch him when he was in and he got some really quick pressure couple times.
