I am on the north side too bruh! I did look at a lot of real estate in Crestwood South too. Oranjello If y'all are looking in Mountain Brook, Homewood and Vestavia and can comfortably afford what would be your "forever home" there knock it out. However if y'all are looking to get your feet wet in Bham real estate while you get used to the City I'd consider the other areas mentioned. I think the best part about Birmingham is that it isn't small but it also isn't huge. That being said traffic to certain areas at certain times is awful and some areas just feel isolated. There are certain nice areas and burbs near the city that I would never live in just bc of isolation and traffic headache reasons. I would also caution I am getting the sense the Bham real estate market is probably getting close to a bubble. Stuff is sitting longer than it used to. That could and likely will change at least at the beginning of next spring but if you feel like something is way over priced I'd be wary.
i didn't really know shit about crestwood north until moving into a place there in june and i've loved it. so just another anecdote. i'll defer to One Two and ramszoolander on giving you advice tho cause they seem older and much more aware of the whole real estate process
Maybe wander around The Summit for a couple hours and never see a movie or buy anything. You know, the usual.
i would end up just buying the cheapest cd possible at coconut's so as to not feel like it was a total waste
My annual hibernation period is about to begin. November > mid-January. Fuckin Summit makes me want to take a hostage.
I don’t understand living in MB or Homewood city limits unless (A) you have kids or (B) you just have the money and never want to move again.
There’s also value in buying somewhere that isn’t as susceptible to market trends. There will always be people wanting to be zoned for MB schools.
I was looking at that house but they wanted wayyy more than I was going to pay for it. Ended up selling it after I passed about 6 months later for about what I had offered originally cc: Oranjello
They fluctuate prices daily. Once I was pretty determined I wanted to live there I just checked the prices and ended up stealing it. Granted my unit sucks (3rd floor not facing pool) but I got the largest 2 bedroom plan for under 1500.
lol yeah we were directly behind you um you have a very attractive wife, friend ...who clearly wants you to get cucked by jeselnik
Thanks man... & yes I’m aware. Just glad he was wearing a beard or she might have mounted him on stage
Wanted to see Jeselnik but had a prior engagement I couldn't get out of. Excited to see David Cross at the Lyric this upcoming Friday though. Steve Martin and Martin Short's show is coming in November as well. Pretty good spurt of comedians coming through town this time of year. Very good to see.
That location has been cursed. Rare Martini went from being a decent spot in the 2008-2011 time frame to an absolute cesspool of patrons and it's been bad ever since
Martin & Short are coming to Huntsville too. Pretty excited. Also, The Lyric Theater was pretty awesome.
Was talking about this with a couple other prestigious alums the other day; is he the first Jag to start at that level?
Saw's Special Tonight was the Buffalo Sweet Tea Chicken Sandwich. It as every bit as delicious as you'd expect to be if not more.
I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I intend to try the burger sometime soon as it looks delicious.
First time I had the super crunch it was amazing, but the second time it was a lot different. Thinking it might be a crapshoot over there.
