https://www.al.com/life/2018/12/the-nick-a-dangerous-history-of-alabamas-coolest-bar.html Cool article my buddy from Bham sent me about the Nick. Didn’t realize same guy owns Smiths’ Olde Bar in ATL...but it makes so much sense
I can appreciate that they admit to their faults and are trying to do better. Rather than the typical excuses and blaming the customers.
i'm glad they asked that sports question given how cunty they were about turning on anything that wasn't an obscure euro sport
At least they have TVs. Carrigan's not having TVs because "you should try talking to each other" makes me boycott it from August until February every year because fuck them.
lol is that like their official stance on the matter? david carrigan is a giant dick so that makes a lot of sense
There's a fine line between a restaurant/bar being interestingly cunty and too cunty. That comment from Carrigan's puts them firmly in the latter group.
Anyone know of any bars/restaurants open tomorrow night? The whole 23rd falling on a Sunday seems to complicate things wes tegg mal630
I once joked to a buddy before going there that it sounded like the kind of place that'd be too snobby to make me a Long Island. When I tried to order one that night, the bartender told me it wasn't even in their system and they couldn't make me one without charging me for a few drinks to capture all its ingredients.
That's kinda foolish. Thanksgiving and Christmas weekends are always huge for them. I'd imagine a lot of folks will show up expecting it to be open.
I made a fool of myself there last weekend Left credit card. Destroyed elbow Not the first time is the thing
Went to Shu Shop last night and it was fine. The food was good even though one of our groups orders wasn’t filled. I could do without loud prog metal.
Also love Shu Shop, import Japanese beer on tap, spicy pho bowl is my go to and I like the weird shit they play on the TVs.
Right. I think they're fools to not break from that and just open when Christmas falls so close to a Sunday. Too much money to be made.
Typically when you’re a closed Sunday place that’s a main selling point on hiring employees, and making exceptions would be a great way to run good people off.
Very true. However, the guy I know that works there is a big proponent of working holiday weekends for the exact reason I'm talking about. He has told me before that he often makes $300+ in a night this time of year.
He’ll make that Christmas night. He just won’t make it on Sunday because they aren’t open on Sundays. If they were to open up, nobody would be there because everyone who goes there knows they aren’t open on Sundays.
This post is cancelled. I was out until 5 am last night. I'm currently 2 liters of water down after a 3.5 mile run and still feel like shit.
Power on my road has been out since 9:00a. Apparently the guy flipping the house a couple blocks away thought it would be a good idea to have his guys trimming trees on Xmas morning and they took out about 5 transformers.
Someone needs to start a ‘go fund me’ to erect a gay pride flag next to the enormous eye sore confederate battle flag on I-65 near Prattville. Better yet, just make it a replica confederate battle flag with gay pride colors.
Blantons behind the counter at ABC on 150. At least 6 bottles left. Just FYI if anybody would like some. edit: also at Vestavia location.
Meanwhile in Larry Langford Kim Kardashian news... https://www.al.com/news/2018/12/in-...rdashian-for-help-in-getting-his-release.html
Does anyone know if convicts usually get released when they’re about to pass away? If not he doesn’t deserve special treatment.
