I feel like these memes make Mtn Brook sound a lot more exciting than it is. Or, and this is probably the case, I just don't know about any of the exciting stuff.
i think it's clearly just piggybacking off some of the myth making. i've heard a lot of stuff like that before but without any evidence (like the person who pointed out in the comments the common mtn brook rumor that placing a pineapple in your cart at the crestine pig signifies you're down to swing) edit: except for the ashley madison leak. i did in fact know some of the names on that list lol
I hear you but I think I do. I know of like maybe 2 affairs between people I know and both were a decade ago. And I only learned about them in the past couple years. The pineapple thing extends outside Mtn Brook though for sure. Could be total BS though.
Modern Crestline maybe. 90's Crestline seemed pretty damn boring (but obviously I was a kid). I mean outside of the Crestline Cougars stomping the shit out of the other elementary schools in the track meet every year.
Braided River is pretty solid from just moving here, Oyster City is supposed to open up on Government soon and I find most of their staple beers enjoyable
Serda first batches were ok, then everything went to shit by their 2nd month. They tried hiring a different brewer and I was told it had started getting better, but this was already after sale rumors etc. Now John is trying to pedal some hangover cure. That guy sucks. Haint blue was solid while it lasted but their whole crowd funded thing was weird and obviously sucks for anyone who paid into that when their taproom didn't last much more than a year. Fairhope has good top end beers like Kingslayer, but everything else is exceedingly average. Not sure, they just got a new brewer too, so who knows. Never got around to trying Old Majestic. What I had Braided River was good but only had 4 or 5 beers maybe. Big Beach really started getting better a couple years ago. Their Area 251 is the best hazy beer anyone in the area has produced. Solid sours and some other good stuff. They've collaborated with some breweries of note, so that's interesting. None of the other places ever do.
Well gentlemen, ABC was out of Plantation 3-star, so it looks like my Yellowhammers will be taking me on an exotic and mysterious expedition through the heart of the jungle with Mr. Smith today.
I'm looking to make a one night pit-stop on the way to Florida in downtown Birmingham. The spot i'm looking at is right between Fountain Heights and Central City. Is this a safe enough area where I won't get my B-Hole diddled?
I was looking at staying at The Tutwiler and checking some of the historic stuff around there, but after reading reviews it sounds like the place is a dump.
No it’s just bc someone else was in here last week with a similar question and was asking about almost that exact area. I wouldn’t stay there. It isn’t safe and there isn’t anything you’d want to do nearby. I wouldn’t worry about being closer to the heart of downtown Birmingham, 65 doesn’t take long to get too from there. Are you just looking to crash for a night or will you have time for dinner or something else?
Yeah we're just gonna crash for the night and be back on the road since that area isn't kosher. I was gonna go through and read but I saw you guys set up a whole itinerary for someone and didn't think it would pertain to me. Thanks for the heads up.
If you change your mind Redmont isn’t bad. You’ll be super close to 31 which is a quick reconnection to 65 south and you’re a couple of blocks from dining and entertainment
Dozen of whatever boutique cold water oysters they recommend for an appetizer. Whole fish for an entrée. .
