I'm a big time specials guy and have never been disappointed. I remember great quail that I think is a fixture. Also remember the short ribs. One night we went with another couple (he's a doctor) and he and I ended up polishing off a bottle of top shelf bourbon between the two of us (chosen because it's his last name). The alcohol portion of the table's bill was close to $400. I nearly choked. We were there for three hours, though, and that's not typical. Just check the price of what you're drinking.

Yes. I was the first person in the door the day they opened. I have been following Feizal around from Hot and Hot, Oasis and The Collins. I definitely like it, but it is a good bit smaller than the Collins with less bartenders. You can't order off menu quite as much but he does have a very good menu. The decor is intended for you to feel like you are in someone's living room in the 1950's-60's.
Funny considering you avatar, and maybe I'm giving the show too much credit, but it's amazing how much influence Mad Men has had. Inspired/revitalized interest in the period, influenced contemporary fashion and made these specialty cocktail lounges a thing. You even see a lot of furniture from that period coming back.
yeah i went the first afternoon/night as well, and it was clear they were still working out some kinks (felt like they didn't have enough servers that particular day) but it's definitely a cool spot and feizal being there does pretty much ensure that the drinks will be good. i work next door to collins so it's kinda nice to have an alternative when collins is cramped.
I went to Atomic last Friday night. I thought it was pretty great. I'd been drinking since about 4 and had a big dinner at Fon Fon, so I was pretty shitfaced when I got there.
I'm very intrigued by Atomic. Based on the pictures I've seen, I could see it being either overwrought or awesome. Could go either way. But if the cocktail program is on point that's really all it takes to win me over.
Last year my dumbass switched to T-Mobile because my reception was so bad at my house and work with Verizon and I could wi-fi call with T-Mobile. T-Mobile does these giveaways every Tuesday and it is generally 10-15 credit to lyft, which goes unused unless I am out of town. I'm glad we are getting it.
pretty cool spot you talkin about EATIN or just DRINKIN? the food is slightly overpriced but not bad. they make some good cocktails, surprisingly not really any top shelf selection bourbons and liquors etc as you may expect. probably due to very limited shelf space
Had dinner there last night celebrating a birthday. Left very full and impressed. The lobster Mac n cheese and the blue cheese wedge were fantastic.
Pizitz Building soft opening began this week. Place is going to be awesome but once they have all 14 stalls open I think they're going to realize they overdid it on the number of stalls and underdid it on the amount of seating necessary for that many places. It's going to be jam packed for lunch pretty consistently
I haven't been but my friends that work downtown went for lunch Friday. 25 minute line at the chicken and waffle place, they only have 2 waffle irons and the food took 40 minutes.
Anyone find the Autobahn indoor cart thing in Bessemer? Going for a work function this Friday afternoon and curious as to how long it typically lasts, for determining carpool or ride solo rush hour traffic things.
