I don't know. I love that place and had no idea they were open today until you said something. You're closer to saw's and it's pretty great, too.
Chez Fonfon burger was one of the best I've ever had. Was perfect for my hangover. Now to drive to sylacauga
Yeah thankfully the low sucked up some carribbean moisture that was being hung up. Huge to get about an inch OTM. Next sunday is next chance of rain. Gonna be in the 40s tmrw a.m
Had dinner there on Thursday. The waiter said they were open because Stitt's daughter was getting married Saturday night. They were shutting down all of Bottega for the reception, and Stitt wanted a place for people to be able to go on Saturday. So opened Fon Fon for lunch.
It was open because they closed bottega cafe for a wedding. I went to Fon Fon for lunch yesterday as a pre-wedding lunch for a different wedding. Burger was fantastic and so were the 6 cocktails.
http://deadline.com/2017/04/fox-erica-oyama-comedy-kapital-entertainment-1202077170/ Fox bought a pilot written by a girl from Bham about her experiences growing up as an Asian American in Birmingham. Its a comedy. The story will center around her father, who owns/runs Oyama Karate in Homewood, and her brother who went to MBHS and was in my pledge class. Funny story about her brother, who now writes for CollegeHumor --- kid was a very quiet and shy kid who already kind of stuck out as a sophomore pledge and asian. First day of pledgeship, some of the actives force him into a tackle football game in the front yard and he gets his jaw broken and has to go through basically all of pledgeship with his jaw wired shut. I think the show has the potential to be pretty funny
i've only ever around hung around the brother, and he's hilarious, but she's apparently pretty funny as well given her background. the hulu series she did with ken marino, "burning love," was really funny.
I find most of the content he puts out cringe-worthy but he is getting paid for it so whatever. I don't think he is independently talented enough to have made it, but his sister married Ken Marino and got him a job as an intern/production assistant on a fledgling Comedy Central series called 'Key and Peale' that ended up doing ok and his career took off from there
Its been ten years since I last stepped into Pelham Civic Center (2006 AHSAA 5A Girl's Volleyball Semifinals) but I don't feel like Bulls games will have the same aura/mystique there as they did at BJCC. Not to mention its just going to be tough to convince anybody under 35 to drive out to Pelham. My gut reaction is to say this this isn't going to work out or at best will be a cheap, watered down version of the Bulls that I remember growing up.
idk i always thought zac was pretty damn funny. but kinda tough to gauge how that measures up against people that are also trying to make it in that business. i remember a good friend that knows him much better than myself showing me this piece a while back, which he apparently wrote, that i found pretty funny: http://www.collegehumor.com/video/7015220/who-would-you-be-on-game-of-thrones-with-james-corden
Anybody know the status of the new restaurant from the Ollie Irene folks? It's going to be in the old Tracy's location right? Haven't been by there lately. I think they originally said they would be open in late spring. I was really disappointed to see Ollie Irene go as it was my favorite restaurant in Birmingham.
the replies to that tweet are hilarious gonna be 30-45mph winds. first round expect redevelopment and chance for severe cells later tonight much needed 1-2inches of rain in bound
Ok so my neighbors' backyard is ruining my life. They have a blend of weeds/vines/bushes that has grown up 8-10 feet high that has completely taken my fence over, that I have to cut back with a chainsaw every few months. In another spot, a tree (on their side of the fence) grew through the gate and has now ripped the gate away from the fence. Their shitty little dog is trying to dig under so I am having to lay bricks along the base of it. It is going to take a good bit of time and money to address this specific fence issue (fixing the gate) won't do anything for the underlying issue of their yard being generally out of control. My neighbors are in their 80s and I don't think they're sitting on a ton of cash. They do pay people to keep up with their yard, but I am never home when they work on it. With this in mind, would y'all confront them about the state of their backyard, or just continue to try to deal with it yourself?
If they are 80 then I wouldn't confront them. Just explain that it is growing on your side and ask if you can clear it back. I doubt they would mind and while it may cost money and effort on your part you save some money in the long run and don't have to be an asshole to old people.
I'd talk to them about it. If they really don't have the money, I'd probably offer to just pay for having it all removed or whatever needs to be done and just get their permission.
If it's obvious that they aren't taking care of anything then I would spray this without asking. I'm in a similar situation and would be doing it right now if not for the weather.
I am no help in your predicament because I sympathize with the olds. I try to do just enough yard work to keep neighbors like you off my ass.
If they're cool old people go talk to them and offer to do it. If they're asshole old people I'd go the weed killer route
where can I go to get my cracked iphone 6s screen fixed (for cheap)? I have some sort of Verizon care but I would have to wait like 3 days and still pay 90 bucks so I would rather just pay a little more and get it done today. when they first came out I remember it was like $250 to fix the screen but I am really hoping that price has some down over the last 18 months or so thanks
Last time my wife broke hers, I bought a new screen kit off Amazon for $30 and fixed it myself. It's not that hard and there are YouTube videos to guide you.
thanks for your suggestions. I was actually trying to avoid that place on 31 next to TCBY because about a year ago they quoted me $99 on a job and then when I showed up for pickup tried to charge me like $230 because something else was apparently broken. I took it to that place in five points/southside, guy said he could fix it for $99
Drive By Truckers @ Avondale Friday night should be a good time if you can tolerate the cold weather and shitty beer with ensuing enhanced hangover... 100% would rather see them @ Iron City
I think I'm probably going to end up going by myself. Lady tegg is out of town and I haven't really been able to find anybody to go with me.
Bro...let's get up...I'll be with Mrs.DriveByBBQ and most likely a small crew...I can freak out the Mrs. and be like, "yeah, I invited this random friendless bro I met online..." PM otw...
