You know what sucks worse than the rain? These mother fucking gnats. I can't remember the gnats being remotely as bad as they are this year.
it's unnerving to discover a man so devoid of interests that the amount of rain on his land becomes a prime source of satisfaction
To the contrary, it's reasonable to expect a man stranded in a desert to be in a state of hopeless despair.
Finally got around to cutting my grass this afternoon. Gnats were insane. Made me wish I had goggles.
Huge ass peaches and green beans and tomatos at pp If eggplant is your thing tons of good ones too.. thx to the RAIN
Funny story. My wife has a Puerto Rican friend. She mentioned that we're going there next month and the friend pulled out Off Deep Woods from her purse and said "You'll need this. Take it. I have more."
Also, more nanny state: https://articles.al.com/opinion/index.ssf/2017/07/alabama_abc_says_no_to_margari.amp
I always wondered why the Mexican places here don't have Mexican Martinis ala Austin restaurants, but now I know. So dumb.
I had some trees removed today in my backyard. The previous owners had just pushed the leaves into an "island" in the middle of the yard around the trees. The guys found a copperhead in the leaves. The same place my dog always wades through to take a dump. Not sure if I should just let it be (the tree guys also cleaned up the leaves and debris) or call a snake removal service. Also, not 100% sure if it was a copperhead since I didn't see it. Owsley
Let it be. It could be a copperhead, but I'd say 75% of the snakes around here identified as copperheads (or cottonmouths) are simply harmless snakes misidentified out of fear and/or ignorance. Keep your eyes out though, and if you do id it as venomous, wildlife removal is the way to go. If I lived in Bham, I'd be more than happy to help. Hopefully there are some good folks around, though.
Have any of you ever got a really high water bill? Our water/sewer bill is $400 this month (usually about $120). Surely something's fucky, right? It says we used 23000gal this period. We've got a toilet that runs, but noway we're using 800 gallons of water/day. Spoiler http://i67.tinypic.com/qwwpz4.jpg
You might have a leak. If you have a crawl space look under there. If not call the water dept to come check it out. It could be underground.
I had it happen in a different county - but I think the answer youll get will be the same. Theyll come out and look at it, but if theyre right youll get charged a ridiculous service fee for them coming - plus the bill you owe. Sounds like youll be alright though.
http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/20...an_on_pitch.html#incart_river_mobile_home_pop Rule "reinterpreted". We can now drink pitchers again.
Happened to me. Almost the exact amounts too. Call and ask them to send someone for a meter "re-read". Most likely human error. Would also love to know the number of people who just pay it.
You can even read the meter yourself. I think they may even have instructions on the BWWB site now b/c so many people complained.
I called them yesterday and was 20th in line to speak to a customer service representative. After five minutes I had someone on the line though.
And lol at that previous 12 months usage chart. They probably had to scale it down to fit the current month.
Owsley I figured this might interest you. Sounds pretty cool. These guys actually eat copperheads. http://www.andalusiastarnews.com/2017/07/12/more-indigos-to-be-released/
Been following this for a while now. Awesome story. Indigos rule, and the Conecuh Forest is absolutely gorgeous. Hope it all works out.
I let my wife handle this first round. Spoiler This mf is on my door when I get home... Spoiler I'm pissed. Looks like I'll be calling Monday. Starting off the week shitty. Hooray. Started mowing the lawn and its starts to monsoon. Eat a dick swim.
But for real, there's no fucking way we using 23k gallons of water last month and that still would explain why our sewer bill would be over $200, by itself. Surely I can get someone competent on the phone that can explain this, right?
I love waiting on hold and hearing about how they're a top 5 water system. I'm not even sure the board of the bww would vote them a top 5 water system
Take a picture when this inevitably shows up You could maybe call a plumber to shove one of those cameras snakes through your sewer line
That storm that came through Vestavia around 3:30 took down about a 70' tree in my neighbor's yard. Utilities came out and got it out of the road and restored power to most affected. Us and several others have been without power since 3:30.
