Normally I say Good People has the best beer but if you're looking for sours, you want to go to The Sour Room run by Avondale brewery. It's near the main brewery and several good food spots are nearby (sushi burritos at Wasabi Juans, best BBQ in town at Saw's, my favorite pizza in town at Post Office Pies, several other good places).
Avondale Public House is gonna have food and be able to serve you sours from the Sour Room that is basically next door.
uhhhhhh thanks for saving that ticket for me ...I will report back. Handicap tickets could be the new VIP. You get escorted to your seat with an actual place to sit, a lot of room around you, and potentially wait staff?
Bottega proper: Pants and a Button down for outside. I'd wear a jacket for inside but not sure you have too. Bottega cafe: Pants and shirt with a collar.
Watching Icarus on Netflix right now, (Russian doping documentary) fascinating stuff. Those stands are obviously sketchy af.
I like Trimtab's atmosphere at night on the weekends (eclectic/weird), but their beer never really did much for me. Maybe they've stepped it up a notch though, I haven't been in awhile
I don't even remember what it was (maybe a lemon lavender lager?), but they had something this summer that tasted like Captain Crunch.
I just finished my last TT passion fruit/guava Paradise Now last night. Had 3 and held on to them for a bit because they were so damn good. Definitely recommend the Avondale sour room though. Went there to watch the Vandy game before a wedding a couple weekends ago. Worth getting a flight at first. Really liked batch(?) #3 and #4.
I think they are being a little aggressive on the timing of this. Bc of how dry the air is here I bet we won't see rain until after 6pm tomorrow. Winds could be a problem before then though
That rape house they tore down that used to be on the hill next to 5 and across the street from Moe’s In Lakeview.
Saw it earlier this week and it lived up to the hype IYAM. Atrox Factory in Leeds and Warehouse 31 in Pelham.
Actually some development company bought the whole block, but Good People will take over the brewery.
Yeah, it was all purchased by Orchestra Partners, a developer. Good people just bought the operating brewery company (not the dirt) and will make the beer.
So the Avondale brand is gone? Fine with me. GP can release some good sours now. All of Avondale's regular offerings were replacement level at best to me, not sure I'd really miss any of their beers.
as long as the restaurants along that stretch no longer have to serve avondale beer exclusively then this is perfect.
where is open tonight that I could take my girlfriend for her bday? she is only 23 so easy to impress thankfully. I don't have the patience to sit through a two hour dinner at bottega tonight so glad that most of the heavy hitters are closed on Monday.
