Thiem gets his first tour level win since May 2021. Of course, he needed a 3rd set breaker to beat Ruusovori, but have to start somewhere.
I always complain how far back Tennis Channel TV is behind real time. But its a legit 40 seconds right now
The Newport camera angles are all time horrible. Every year I watch I wonder how long it’s been since they updated infrastructure. It’s a horrific venue on TV and they have more money than God there, I just don’t get it. edit: if you’ve never been, go there. It’s awesome. Just saying they could made it a proper venue for a tournament. It’s absolutely immaculate.
It’s so bad on TV. Camera looks like it’s in a birds nest up high, and has like a light filter on it that washes out the picture color.
Daria Kasatkina came out as gay yesterday. A huge act of bravery considering Russia's stance toward LGBTQ+ folks which is trending in an even worse direction.
Interested to see if Cerundolo can sort of do what Ruud did last year with the July clay tournaments. Ruud won Sweden/Switzerland/Austria Cerundolo followed suit by winning Sweden and is now up a set on Rublev in Hamburg. He is scheduled to be in Umag next week too.
Replaced with……. The six new events are in San Diego, Seoul, Tel Aviv, Florence, Gijon and Naples between September 19 and October 23. All six are ATP 250 tournaments, with the men's tour announcing that two existing 250 events in Astana and Tokyo were being upgraded to 500 level.
I didn’t realize Pera had to qualify for last week and she won it. Some great wins for her the last two weeks. Also not sure if anyone is watching but Kontaveit took her out at Wimbledon.
Ive made some good change with Pera these past 2 weeks. i went to bet her and just couldn't pull the trigger at +140 against Kontaveit. Wanted +200 or more
SC know anything about this Bruno Kuzuhara. 18 year old American/Brazilian Just took the 1st set off Steve Johnson
Won the Aussie Open Boys title earlier this year. Think he should’ve gone to college but turned pro instead. Really great mover and athlete, but think the lack of size is going to hurt him at tour level. Fantastic juniors player though who could overachieve.
Going through my bets and saw Kyle Edmund playing a Challenger. First singles match in 18 months after 3 knee surgeries. From Top 15 in the World 3 years ago and only 27. Will be interested to see how it goes
I was going to ask you about him. Ive been seeing him on the Challenger Tour the last 2 weeks and have made some money on him.
NCAA champ as a sophomore, clinched the team national title for Florida as a freshman. Reminds me a lot of Kyrgios in terms of style and energy, though a little less crazy lol
