I would have thought the ATP Cup is all a bit meaningless and players just use the event as a bit of match practice for the AO, but that's clearly not how they feel considering the standard of play I saw over the past week or so. Well done, Canadia!
And guess who won his court case... Still a chance the government might cancel his visa using discretionary powers, but I'm just not sure they'll go down that path given that that would prevent him from returning for 3 years. (Do it! DO IITTTTTT!!!!!)
Job number 1 for the Aussie government: Haul Djokovic's ass into a room and ask him whether the Dec 16 PCR test result is a fake or whether he's perfectly happy spreading COVID around the community at public events. Because it's clearly one or the other. And either one is enough to get him thrown out of the country.
Remember he was dancing around and shit at some unsanctioned tournament when we all were locked down the first time? He doesn’t give a shit.
Hope he gets it worse than ever and has a complete meltdown Considering the lockdowns Australia has had, guessing there’s gonna be a whole lot of hate
This is part of the reason I don't really rate her as a top player yet, and certainly don't regard her as the #2 player in the world. That kind of meltdown is sad to see.
Oh, you have no idea. Apart from the crazy Serbs that regard him as their god, he's going to struggle to find many friends in the crowd when he steps on court. From the sounds of it, he doesn't even have too many in the locker room right now.
Last year when those crowds were wild and then all the sudden sent home I don’t think I’ll ever forget. Was so good to hear that after so long.
No Australia had shit under control through pretty strict quarantine and lock downs. That was the first normal crowd we saw for almost a year. Curfew one night and then they shut It down soon after.
My sleep schedule is so fucked up, watched all of coco and Kostyuk early this morning. Kostyuk was really impressive to me. Anyhow normally I would complain but I’m happy I’ll see more now.
Kostyuk can really play, she's going to be a good one. Coco's in some kind of form too, wouldn't be stunned if she makes the 2nd week at the Aussie at this rate.
I like it for the drama and extra scrutiny it brings on novak but isnt there a protocol if he were to have to be removed/withdrawn from the tournament after the draw? Like the #5 seed would take his spot and so forth.
If he withdraws after the draw is made but before the first OOP is set, Rublev moves to #1 line, Gael to #5 line and Bublik to #17 line. If he withdraws after a OOP is set, a lucky loser gets Novak’s spot.
Yea I dont think the integrity of the tournament is lost by proceeding, if thats what this cancellation is about.
