Hey, it's been a tough week in lockdown, okay?

 

When did they lock you down again?

 

I adore Benoit Paire.

 

We were pretty lucky, really - we had a few community cases Mon/Tues of last week so we we went into a 7 day lockdown from last Wed. Would have been fine except we had to work from home and I'm not set up very well for it.

Much better situation than NSW which has COVID running rampant and been in a sort of LD for about a month already with no signs of ending.

 

If you’re just waking up turn on semis. In the third, broke Novak to start third and just went up 2-0.

 

Sasha has broken Novak serve now four times in a row. Up 3-0 in the third.

 

Sasha really fucking did it. Took him 6-1 in the third. No medical time outs, no gifts, he really just crushed the ball on the serve and then just hit all the corners. Best I’ve ever seen him play.

 

I will never say anything bad about Zverev again in my life.




Okay, of course I will. He's a douche - not in the same league as Djokovic, but a douche nonetheless. But for today at least, I love that douche.

I only watched the third set so some may have a different perspective if they watched all. Sasha was just really good. He was absolutely crushing the ball and not making mistakes. Novak didn’t stand half a chance to get to a ton of balls. You might see some unforced error narratives out there, but it was not easy shots he was dealing with. When he wasn’t hitting winners he had him running all over the place.

 

Novak down a set but up a break in mixed. He looks wiped.

 

Thrilled to see Pavs and Rublev into the Mixed Gold Medal match. Those two have been a blast this week
