Anybody play? I’m back playing 1-2x a week after giving it up for like 15 years and man I’ve missed it so much. Played in a 4.5 tournament last weekend and had a lot of fun. Would love to be able to get to 5.0 at some point but not there yet.
I’ve had to do a bunch of hitting sessions this year for kids who came home from college early due to Covid. I think I’ve been a teaching pro for so long I’ve kind of lost the desire to really play. But since I’ve had to get in playing shape to hang with these kids I’m back into it. a great drill game you can play for singles or doubles is called “50”. It’s baseline points where you play til one side gets 50 pts. Winner is 5 pts, winner out of the air (volley/overhead) is 10pts and everything else is 1pt. Great game to work on your ability to grind it out or get on the attack and play aggressive.
Fritz had the version of the kit with the neon shorts, and it was just way too much going on. But otherwise agree. Tiafoe’s version and FAA’s are perfect.
You can't toss in 15 double faults and expect to beat Sandgren. Too good of a grinder for that. Isner down a set to Millman.
That was wild. Played her best defensive game of the match to push it to a TB, couldn’t miss in the TB. Great win.
So in case anyone was waiting to see what would show up between "Sacha at a big but not major tournament" or "Sacha at a major venue" I guess we found out.
Holy shit the Open starts next week. I’ve been in a bit of a bubble here. Anyhow I enjoyed this headline and article. Novak literally does not know what a pandemic is. Of all the people to speak up about this, this is the last clown on earth that should say anything. Novak Djokovic miffed at USTA for removing Guido Pella, Hugo Dellien from Western & Southern
So Berrentini/Opelka going to 2nd set tiebreaker. Literally only 6 return points won in 12 games of the 2nd set
