FYI if you want to put a couple dollars on a Dog tomorrow. Lazarov +322 vs Bublik. Bublik losing in the semis to Hurkacz on Saturday in Marseille. Probably a full day of travel. Don't think hes flying private and theres no direct flights from Marseille to Dubai. One day of rest and its Bublik and is always a wild card and could be in for a letdown
My only reservation is maybe Bublik remembers that trying hard and winning is more fun than breaking rackets. Or maybe he enjoys breaking rackets more…
Oh for sure. This is a total Im betting against Bublik and hoping he decides to fucking suck and not care bet.
And by the way, Shelton is showing all his skills in this match. Sucks he is facing Rune in the first round but there is a lot to build off here win or lose
The fact Rune has way more experience in these tight matches vs top 50 competition really came out. Shelton was impatient towards the end. He also hit the nicest shots of the match.
And he seemingly is wearing a lot of sunscreen on his face at night. Maybe wipe that off and get some first serves in
Nice win for Peyton Stearns. Dont know her game at all. Seems like shes a UT College Player playing at home. How often do we get a 3 tiebreaker in a WTA match
Im a degenerate because I got Tennis Channel on my TV and than on my Laptop I got Challenger level tennis from Pune, India
Yeah, JJ wasn’t great at all, like 50% first serve and 7 double faults. But he was extremely frustrated because Daniel was hitting every damn line. If he could strike the ball like that consistently he’d probably be top 10 lol.
You got 3 weeks of this with Indian Wells around the corner The one thing I like, after Indian Wells, there is no more late late night tennis for a while. Even on the Challenger circuit. Got one India tournament this week and then nothing until South Korea in May. Which will let me get some sleep
He's got real serve issues right now. 11, 13, 13, 25 in terms of DF's his last 4 matches out. He's always going to be more aggressive on 2nd serves given the style he plays, but the balance is way off.
I got to give Machac a little credit here. Hes playing Novak tough. Not faltering when you think he would. Novak not playing near his best level but its nice to see a young guy not just shit his pants playing Novak
Hubie with a little bit of a championship hangover. We were destined for S2 tiebreaker but Shevchenko got a little wobbly on first serves.
And a spot I need to get more active in betting is fading guys after a long break after a major vs guys who have stayed active. Shelton at Delray vs Giron comes to mind, Karen vs BVDZ also sticks out from today. Obviously joker won but, taking Machac + a bunch of games or +1.5 sets would have been great odds.
Novak is horrible to bet, yet another reason I hate him more than anyone. He absolutely has mastered putting forth the most minimal effort to win matches. On the odd chance I bet him, always the over.
I think Thiem may just be broken at this point. If can’t get right during these small clay tournaments…
Ruud hasn’t gotten much match time lately. He had trouble with world #342 Guido Andreozzi two days ago. And Daniel is probably in some of the best form of his life after his ridiculously clean match vs JJ. in short, good time for Daniel to catch Ruud.
Taking Botic Van de Zandschulp and Borna Coric vs the Russians tomorrow. BVDZ is currently playing above his level and Rublev below. +180 will do. Coric has a good record vs Daniil, but lately he’s not been close to his best. If he has a good day and Daniil is off he’s got a shot, but won’t hold my breath. Still seems like a spot where +430 could offer value.
I've actually predicted Ruud might go close to dropping out of the top 10 before the end of the year. He's sure as hell not making 2 slam finals in 2023.
