Got on dmitrov last night. Give me the stable guy every time. Not sure Fritz deserves to be such a heavy favorite over Ruud
I like Coco a lot and she’s got enough talent to win this match and go on a run to the final, but she probably needs a coaching change and definitely needs a different mental approach.
There was a lot of insinuation about her coach on Twitter the last 7 days. Supposedly he got banned the day she withdrew from the 2nd round. A lot of insinuation of things but nothing has been said.
Yeah I unfortunately think it’s true. I can say I texted my guy in the tennis world and he text a very prominent tennis channel person and all she said was no comment
I didn’t see what any of the rumors were but I do remember last year when people were calling for his head for the way he spoke to her. She ultimately stood up for him and squashed it.
I just played tennis for the first time in 20 years and I got the itch to play this winter. Any tips on how to self-rate yourself? There's a league a few blocks from my house indoors that I want to sign up for but I don't know how to rate myself
I golf once a week now, it seems only natural I replace it in the winter with the other rich whitebread sport right?
Bit of a to-do to do the actual self rate form https://www.usta.com/en/home/play/adult-tennis/programs/pacificnw/Self-Rating-Details.html Or just look at this chart https://www.usta.com/content/dam/usta/pdfs/10013_experience_player_ntrp_guidelines.pdf
yeah but that was 20 years ago. from what I've seen on youtube I can hang at 3.0 today just on athleticism and old muscle memory but I can't tell if 3.5 or 4.0 would be the better fit my serve is non-existent, I haven't served in 20 years. But everything else came back really quickly so I figure in a three-month league I'll eventually get my serve back too this is really helpful and confirms my range
kind of what I'm thinking. I'm in great shape from playing other sports so I feel like 3.0 might just be bullying some players getting into the sport. 4.0 will outskill me while I catch back up Hopefully we're right. A three-month session with the wrong rating would suck
Since you've played before, you'll be bored out of your mind at 3.0. I've seen solid 3.5 players (played in a tri level league that was 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5). Not so much at 3.0. Those are usually folks new to the game.
Feels like a failure when the now top ranked us woman (pegula) is wearing the same Adidas outfit as her Russian opponent.
Apparel companies not providing alternative kits for these same sponsor player matches annoys me to no end.
