Fritz has better touch than I was aware of. Been surprised watching him angle touch shots and volleys.
Fritz is starting to look worn down both physically and mentally. Tiafoe seems fairly fresh, or at least is projecting it.

Excluding the double faults, that was a very poorly played last game by Foe. Attempting a drop shot on set point is too big a gamble for this stage.
Won’t be long before it starts on 4th of July. Also every year we have tennis on TV and football on the iPad. Dinner prepped in the morning for least disruption. Blessed be the fruit, my wife loves both sports.
While it’s ridiculous, what really makes the US Open THE US OPEN is night play during the first week. Totally unique atmosphere.
It’s always going to be on the first nfl Sunday. It used to have a slightly later start (I think 3 or 4 ET), but there’s not some obvious solution here. It’s either up against the 1 pm games, the second time slot games, or Sunday night football. I suppose if you want max potential viewers for tennis, then put it up against just the Sunday night game.

sampras def went into the crowd when he won his final major at the us open. I also didn’t realize he made the finals of the last 3 us opens he played. I still randomly watch that Sampras vs Agassi final. So good.
