I think Australia is handling this great. The debacle is all the pampered players acting like cunts when they’re in a comped hotel room and getting $75 a day in Uber Eats money for food. I’m extremely sympathetic to the issue of being in a 14-day quarantine then having to come out with one week to train before a slam, but thems the breaks.
One of the doubles players said there was a players call a month or two back where they talked about what would happen if someone on your plane over tested positive. That Dubs player also said there weren’t many players on that call, which, yeah.
Yeah, the quarantine is going to make it very tough for any of them, but sadly that's the luck of the draw (or plane). And I'm sure the $100k prizemoney for being a 1st round loser will console them a bit...
I read the same thing yesterday - sorry guys & girls, but it's your responsibility to be fully informed and up to speed on the safety precautions for this slam. Not the organisers' fault if you couldn't be arsed to join the conference call.
Not a bad schedule for next Tuesday at the ATP Cup https://www.atptour.com/en/scores/current/atp-cup/8888/daily-schedule
Finally I thought this delay would be actually a positive due to football still ongoing. Nah. We needed the AO already.
Djokovic just pulled out minutes before it was supposed to start. So it’s Sinner-Filip Krajinovic instead. Ok then.
I believe because all these tournaments are happening on the grounds in Melbourne and were scheduled short notice, so they’re not doing many fans so the facilities will be ready to go for the Aussie. Exhibitions were elsewhere in the region so no issue bringing fans in there for a one off.
Thank you, I was searching and could not find anything on it. Forgot I can also tag paulski he might know something else.
Hey Will. To be honest, I haven't been paying much attention to the lead up events, so I don't really know what's going on with the crowds. We do have a couple of states playing it really safe with COVID right now, so I'm guessing that's a large part of it. And the Open itself is going to be capped at about 50% for safety reasons in case you guys haven't heard yet. Still a good result considering the state of the world at the moment.
This morning is one of the few days of the year where I’d pay for tc+. About four great women’s matches on and they show some garbage men. Collins with a real nice win over Pliskova.
Serbia loses to Germany in the deciding doubles in the ATP Cup. And boy, Djokovic did not like that... Hilarious that he even bothers with his "please love me" image when he so easily reverts to his default mode of 'tool'*. * Copyright Nick Kyrgios
That’s just dumb if you ask me. Good news is I’ve been waking up at 330 every morning in preparation.
Pretty much. I honestly don't think there's much wrong with Williams - she's just had a big week of tennis and wants a break before R1.
