Watching the USTA Challenger tour matches, I'm curious about who goes to these. Like I get there are family members and coaches and press, but then who else?
Ok it feels kinda weird hearing the announcer say one of the guys is well-known for his calves and that they're legendary. Because I've never heard of Mackenzie McDonald or his calves until tonight.
I love watching them. Was watching some of the Dallas one last night and there was more people then I’ve ever seen at a challenger
I saw him for the first time ever last year when he beat Del Porto. There was some guy a couple seats behind me saying “Let’s Go Mackie” after every point
Mackie won the Singles and Doubles NCAA title at UCLA in the same season. Elite college player with a big following because of it, just hasn’t translated to ATP.
I’ve always wondered the same. I remember seeing a stat last year about Naomi Osaka that her double bagel against Sasnovich was her first since a 25K Juniors event in Rock Hill, SC like five years ago and I’m just like, who in the absolute hell would spend their weekend watching that?
Highlights were Young yelling at his coach to move and the ball girl briefly attempting to juggle between the second and third sets.
I only watched a little of the Krueger/Bellucci match. I like live betting tennis on people to hold their serve and I made a couple in that match
Always fun watching Diego Schwartman play. Guy is singlehandedly undoing the damage from Fred Durst and making it ok to wear hats backwards again.
Ostapenko knocks off Kenin. When she’s locked in, there’s still a high level player in there with Penko.
Garin gives Diego a bagel in the 3rd set in the finals. Wow. He was hitting Diego off the court while I was watching the 3rd set. Wasn't missing anything.
It’s almost tough to watch. He’s just got nothing unless he can get to the net and play it like a doubles point.
And yet he barely goes to the net. He should be playing like Karlovic. Getting to the net every point
So St. Petersburg is going on now. Never forget that opening ceremony they have for every match, I need to watch later today in hopes that they show it on the replay. Also looking like they are switching now to Fognini/Khachanov but Putinseva was on previously and she is rocking some major camel today.
