honestly? just make a game that plays a good, smart football sim. You can make arcade games that would sell a ton of copies separately. But make the flagship a good football game with smart AI
It doesn’t even have to be smart it just needs less bullshit canned animations. Like o this guy tried to tackle at this angle so the ballcarrier is going to fall x amount of yards regardless of other defenders arriving. Average sized running backs will truck stick Ndamukong Suh as they get handed the ball but then later get obliterated by 5’9” 175 pound safety with 50 hit power and 60 tackle ability in the open field. Also Wide Receivers with 99 catching RNG dropping passes when they are wide open but also wide receivers with 70 catching RNGing their way to Odell Beckham Jr one handed catches while getting high-lowed by a MLB and SS. Obviously good players can make bad plays and bad players can make good plays IRL but good players shouldn’t mess up shit that any peewee player in America could do and not every player should have access to their once in a lifetime David Tyree moment.
Okay I finally watched these videos and honestly these glitches are hilarious and make me want to play the game more My favorite is when the ball is bouncing on one guy's helmet as he runs in perfect sync with two teammates for fifty yards
You know it has to be bad if it has people itt thinking NCAA 14 was any good. NCAA and Madden have sucked since 2004. But that year was the GOAT
if i had $1 for everytime the ball has bounced off of three players and ended up being caught anyway i could buy enough pub subs to feed the offensive line that refuses to block well enough for me to run the ball.
The PGA2K game that just came out has a few glitches but is overall a good game considering it's their first attempt (to my knowledge)
1- a mediocre ~70 rated overall wide receiver can absolutely embarrass a pro bowl cornerback in bump/man coverage pretty often especially if his speed rating is 2-3 points higher 2- players in zone coverage fail to acknowledge receivers coming into their zone and instead will stand in one spot guarding nobody for an entire play instead 3- an OL with 5 players rated 65-70over can keep a DL of pro bowlers from touching the QB for an entire game 4- There's no option to put a CB on a particular WR wherever he goes on the field for the entire game. They claim there's a feature that does it and I've tried for the past 3 Maddens. Lining up your #1 WR in the slot basically negates the function.
Once they started monetizing the content (ultimate play) it was over. The game itself doesn't matter, just the additional money they make from people buying points to buy other stuff. I know Madden was bad before, but they haven't changed anything about the game since then.
Don’t play a lot of video games anymore but my son does. So basically I need to tell him he isn’t buying the new Madden this year right? I think he has 2016-2019
It's a good game to play with friends while drinking beer and talking a little shit. Which puts it way ahead of most sports games these days and is all I expected. It's pretty similar to whichever Tiger game came out with Augusta on the cover
if he doesn't have El Tiburon type access to in-game purchases then he's going to have a real shitty time with madden
The gameplay is not bad but it needs more courses, more players, and the option to play as a pro player.
it has unlimited courses and, by design, theres no inherent difference between one player and another so theres no reason to play as pros
The number of courses is on par with most golf games over the years especially for a ~6gb (i think) game. Also on the course select screen it has what looks like a timer on each of the course boxes that said 8W last time I played which makes me think they may cycle them every so often possibly... could be wrong though
can't do that at the line of scrimmage each play, and if I happened to guess it correctly in selecting the play, they just have to audible to another formation that puts the WR out wide and my CB won't follow them out there.
Remember the good ol days when you could export your draft classes from NCAA? What an amazing function that got shit away.
Offensive drive from every team here. The gameplay looks decent and early reviews are really optimistic.
I bought last year's for like $30 or something on a whim. It was okay. I'm not very good but I still don't understand how getting stuck on blockers is still a thing
My biggest problem with recent Maddens is they refuse to address the fact that AI defenders are oblivious. It's so frustrating to play defense on all-madden because the AI will absolutely complete 85% of their passes unless you run cheese plays. But if I turn it down to all-pro, I'll win by 40 every game.
