hmmm Geese more guitar heavy, almost post-punk. last album was a little different but still more guitar driven than Heavy Metal. Winter is lead vocalist though so if the vocals are off-putting not sure you’ll dig Geese. the live album is really good. that’s their wheelhouse.
sunrise hike in the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. Dbacks vs Phillies. Mexican meal. Then Omni. Then drive home and go to work dead tired the next morning. Sounds like a good time to me
new Cola single features Ben Stidworthy playing Uilleann pipes, which I'd never even heard of but think sound awesome
Incredible show. But holy shit did I feel old. Definitely wasn’t the oldest one there but the crowd skewed very young. Largest underage section I can remember ever being at this venue. Flip side was there was no line at the bar and I was able to sit on the bleachers the entire show.
excited to see her next week at a festival. but yeah, aren't they in their early 20s? I'm prepared to feel old at 34 in the crowd.
I went last year. It doesn't skew a particularly young crowd. Shit, I stood next to Ken Jennings last year vibing out to Vampire Weekend. I just figure the people opting to see Momma and Wishy during their set times might be younger. That's alright with me. Should be a blast.
bought tickets to Preoccupations in San Diego in June. That'll be my monthly road trip and it should be amazing
Kevin Krauter was at IU when I was there so he’s gotta be early 30s. The others are younger though Edit: oh you meant momma, nevermind. Yeah they’re young.
Agreed, like it a lot. Have to pick up my wife at like 11:30 tonight but really looking forward to listening to it again on full blast in the car.
Let me know if there’s a good song on the new Thom Yorke, I went to sleep after the first two. A little too on the electronic side for me
When I was first out of college I was driving a car that only had a cassette player and would constantly play their first release as viet cong. Great car music
they absolutely shred on that Andromeda song and the title track is top tier for me. I really like the whole thing but I'm pretty biased at this point
Andromeda was also a standout track for me Whole album got added to shit I’m into list, that song got added to shit I’m into into list
Oh it won’t stop me. Just a general observation. I can go to see James McMurtry to feel young. Even at 35 I’m definitely on the young side there for awhile yet.
I did not know how bad I needed an indie 80s synth/funk rock album until I heard these guys when doing an ACL fest undercard scan. Really fun album. “Teacher” is a jam
Momma is so popular that they moved the time slot of Julien baker and Torres and kilby because people were mad they were playing at the same time as Momma
Julien Baker and Torres canceled their tour. Julien has a concussion. Not sure if they’ve announced a replacement for that fest but they did indicate they would
gosh I love this song. I don't think there's a single song I skip on any of the Dry Cleaning LPs or EPs
