Jesus...a killer new downtown boys track is posted and people are talking about goddamn Mumford and sons If anyone is dumb enough to go that in the first place they deserve to watch them suck
You've done this multiple times, man. Whenever somebody talks about a band you don't like who happens to be really popular, you do this. FWIW, I haven't listened to Mumford in a few years. I did enjoy their first couple albums though. I have no idea what fyre fest is.
I could have chosen to talk about how awful the vocals in that Downtown Boys song were to listen to instead. Would that have been better?
If you you think the vocals on that song are awful, by all means. I'm just saying I don't understand why someone would surprised at a band that had always sucked sucking
It's really not boring at all. Not sure what Keef isn't smoking, but he needs something better. Their 3rd album would be awesome live.
I'll be honest. I got to the front of their headlining set at Hangout and had a great time. I did enjoy their first album but don't really go back much and listen to it. I thought they put on a pretty good show.
To be fair, we are in the indie rock thread on known cunty site TMB...what exactly are y'all expecting? I thought we were here to deride each others tastes and occasionally begrudgingly agree on something
it's a white people singalong. but they're on par with a lot of bands that people rave about ITT I love local natives - Mumford isn't anymore "boring" than them in concert. You stand around and sing along or just do a baby knee bend and head nod. You either like the source music or don't. Mumford has good energy
Can one of you gents direct me to your lists of best albums of 2016? I always try to use that as a guide for new music but I missed the boat this year. It's a great resource for someone who doesn't follow the music scene all that closely. Much appreciated
Radiohead -- A Moon Shaped Pool Car Seat Headrest -- Teens of Denial White Lung -- Paradise Parquet Courts -- Human Performance Whitney -- Light Upon the Lake Some that I liked. Whitney and Car Seat Headrest prob my favs
Frank Ocean and Bon Iver were my two favorites of 16. The Local Natives album was great too. 2017 is going to blow 2016 out of the water overall though.
Posted this before but I like this site. You can sort by year and genre. I like it for compartmentalization and thoroughness. http://www.albumoftheyear.org/

I must have missed this a couple weeks ago, new single from Japanese Breakfast () off her upcoming album song is called Machinist and the album is called Soft Sounds From Another Planet annddd just saw she is playing in Boston in early July so tack that onto the list of upcoming shows
I was late to the game on her album last year, but it would be on my best of if I did it now. cant wait to hear the new one.
