the more petite Asian girls I can expect to be at a show the more likely I am to attend Japanese Breakfast sold out next week in Cambridge. I got tickets like three months ago though
I'm bringing my steak to the restaurant actually. Old sorta-kinda-not really girlfriend I hung out with for ~6 months before moving out here is getting in at 6:30 tonight staying w me for the weekend. she's down for whatever and even mailed me some party favors last week for us. the 2 songs I heard on the ACL spotify playlist were good. 21summer and can't remember the other. Originally had written off Whitney and a couple others because they setup a stage across the street from the entire rest of the festival and it looked like a re-entry situation to see stuff there. Now that they said the entire area on both sides of the street is gonna be within the main entrances, hence no reentry, I'll probably do whitney
Na. Plans fell through and I didn’t have anywhere to stay. Didn’t want to spend a shit load on an Airbnb for just myself. I got tickets to the Texas v OU game so I’ll be in Dallas.
Really good set list. Really good venue. Beautiful night. Great food and drinks. Cool place to hangout. So pissed I didn’t go to Tom Petty now. This will be a staple spot for me next summer for sure. Here were the acts they had this season... Setlist Nobody Else Will Be There The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness Walk It Back Guilty Party Don't Swallow the Cap Afraid of Everyone Dark Side of the Gym I'll Still Destroy You Turtleneck I Need My Girl Secret Meeting Conversation 16 Slow Show Apartment Story Carin at the Liquor Store Bloodbuzz Ohio Day I Die Fake Empire About Today Pink Rabbits The KKK Took My Baby Away (Ramones cover) Mr. November Terrible Love Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks
ACLFest Review Best in show: Vulfpeck. most entertaining show i've been to in a long time. came out to a NBA starting lineup intro. guy gives a 5 minute keynote speech on their Fee Fi Fo Fom philosophy of life. 1 acapella song. 2 singer+one instrument soloing together freestyle. Everyone played 2-3 different instruments. Just a really fuckin fun show and thinking about going to see them tonight or tomorrow night since tickets are still available. Sleeper Show: LIVE. fsugrad99 knows what I'm talkin about they were awesome I wasn't expecting it at all Really good: Heathens, Valerie June, Revivalists, Run the Jewels, Mobley, Ben Booker, Thundercat *shoutout TC, RHCP, Jamila, Danny Brown, Goldfish, HatH (hipsterjoe I absolutely thought about you during Lost in my Mind and peaking on 4g of really good mushrooms was kinda perfect for this show) Really didn't see a bad show at all they were all entertaining but I guess if I had to make a "would not see again this weekend": Spencer Ludwig - mostly a time slot issue the music wasn't bad. Just not in dance mode on day 1 at 2-3pm. And maybe more violin less trumpet Martin Garrix. this show was pretty mediocre considering we were all rolling pretty good I would have thought it'd be better. And these highschool and college kids like to mosh pit get the fuck out with that shit\ Alison Wonderland meh. Portugal meh. Went Gorillas instead of Killers and they were actually probably the worst show I saw all weekend Managed to sleep through the entire Whitney show yesterday. had a good lay down spot under some trees and a handful of edibles and passed the fuck out Shit load of Tom Petty tributes that were all incredibly well done. Revivalists played Wildflowers + Refugee back to back and they were great. Probably 2nd best show of the weekend and I went into it only knowing "wish I knew you" from their stuff. That lead singer looks weird as fuck yo but good energy on stage Gonna be watching out on Redbull Sound Select TV to catch some of these shows replaying. Will post when I see the schedule for when Vulfpeck comes on if anyone wants to watch that one.
I saw them Friday night and it was the best of the three times I've seen them. They are way more intense in a club than outdoors
Same exact review from me. It was also my third time seeing them, and this was easily the best show. All their songs play so much heavier live than on the albums.
i hate the cope album, but the way they play cope live is amazing i've seen them 6x, and this tour was probably my 2nd favorite show of theirs
So jealous. I went to Sigur Ros, and had dreams of making it back for this show. Very interesting part of queens that venue is in.
If talking about how thorough the check for stuff: All depends on who you get in your line. I always open up all the pockets and take out towel before getting to the table bc I put flasks in a raincover Velcro pocket on the bottom of my backpack. One of my friends with the same backpack didn’t even know it was there til I showed him. It hasn’t been checked in all 4 years I’ve taken it. First two days person barely even looked in just peek down each pocket and go. (I did get profiled on Saturday and got a 2nd patdown after the bag search + initial pat down + metal detector scan). Third day we were in Johnny super checkers line and he just squeezed around everywhere from the outside feeling for objects. Took him 3-4 minutes, checking the main pockets several times very confused, before he finally found the raincover pocket. Also found my oil pen battery without the cartridge, let me keep that but his pat down included shaking my waistband excessively and pockets. Nah bitch the drugs are in the compression shorts firmly settled next to my nuts. If just asking about size restrictions: I honestly don’t think they care if your bag is a little bigger than 18L but wouldn’t take a crazy big one and would recommend putting anything illegal either by your dick in some secure fashion or in your shoes. They pat along the waistband all around and on the front/sides of your thighs but not in the triangle pelvis region
Cloud nothings who is opening are better. Go watch them and just plan on being real drunk by the time Japandroids come on and you'll have a blast.
Japanese Breakfast tomorrow Beach Fossils Thursday then super sleepers Bruvs on Sunday night. Love those dudes
I doubt they will say anything at all unless you show up with a framed camping backpack. not like they had any yard sticks or measuring devices out there.
