De-Loused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta came out just about 15 years ago (June 24, 2003) summer before junior year of HS. What a time
Definitive album of the year list thus far Snail Mail - Lush Pusha T- Daytona Car Seat Headrest - twin fantasy Mount Eerie - now only Soccer Mommy - clean Beach House - 7 AAL - 2012-2017 Father John misty - gods favorite customer
Katie Toupin's EP is a lot fucking better than the abortion "Houndmouth" is fixing to release. I'm glad I did not spend an extra night in Austin to see them.
so far in 2018 IMO: Preoccupations - New Material Beach House - 7 Snail Mail - Lush Car Seat Headrest - Twin Fantasy Hinds - I Don't Run Parquet Courts - Wide Awake! La Luz - Floating Features Ought - Room Inside the World Soccer Mommy - Clean Naked Giants - SLUFF US Girls - In a Poem Unlimited Lucy Dacus - Historian we can still expect to be #blessed by Wild Nothing, Mitski, The Love Language, Container, MBV, Ex Hex, Julia Holter, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Oh Sees, Let's Eat Grandma. And others I am sure still need to listen to Amen Dunes, Father John Misty, gobbinjr, TT, Sunflower Bean, John Maus, Petal and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever that all has the makings of a very good year though. I left off a bunch of albums I really like
Hookworms is my other honorable mention. But these three albums feature the most in my rotation at this point.
Car Seat Headrest - Twin Fantasy Gaz Coombes - World's Strongest Man Giraffes? Giraffes! - Memory Lame Gum - The Underdog Iceage - Beyondless Khruangbin - Con Todo el Mundo King Tuff - The Other Sluff - Naked Giants Ty Segall - Freedom's Gobline US Girls - In a Poem Unlimited Way further along with albums I dig at this point than I was last year, still probably team US Girls so far, patiently waiting for that mr Gnome

don't make fun of me for this yesterday with the US Open, World Cup and CWS I spent a lot of time sitting around being really high so below is my attempt at a music festival lineup. I tried to make it a diverse array of performers but just don't know modern rap (or really care to if I am being honest) well enough to get acts outside the really big names Spoiler
for any Drones fans this Tropical Fuck Storm album's pretty nice, also apparently they pissed off all the Australian alt right so their youtube videos are rocking some funny dislike/like ratios
When the hell did Sturgill Simpson become a jam band? His live shows are insufferable now with ridiculously long guitar solos that are just mediocre
Just finished "Meet Me In the Bathroom." Anyone else read it? Thought it got a little pretentious at times, but overall a really interesting look at the era and all the bands coming up in early 2000s NYC.
He gives 0 fuks what people think. He does what he wants to do and not what Nashville or anyone else wants him to do. I wouldn't get too upset about it if I were you. He'll probably get tired of this phase before long and move on to something else that you might like better than his old stuff.
As someone who was raised in Nashville and is kind of embarrassed about it, I dig that. Just kind of hate this direction. But as you said, his next stage will probably result in another amazing album
Well you did . And it's against ATL? Fuck that. Insufferable guitar solos? He shreds . I didn't know bands that play a song or three over 4 minutes are jam bands. His Bonnaroo performance was one of his best.
Embarrassed to call Nashville home? Hipster as it gets . Come home for Live on the Green Aug 23 Parquet Courts Rainbow Kitten Surprise trampled by turtles
eh I saw them last month and was just in town this weekend. Every flight to and from Nashville is now like an episode of Jersey Shore so I need to be strategic. I'll likely be in town for the Florida football game and then to watch the Vols lose to freaking Mason yet again. Hopefully you go see Car Seat Headrest the week before Parquet Courts
new Marissa Nadler album out September 28th first single has Angel Olsen on it and is called For My Crimes
always been intimidated to dig into his stuff with the album lengths and just jazz in general being really hit or miss for me, but I'm about 1/3 through this thing and it's hitting the spot so far, opening track's especially up my alley
