For me in terms of Africa:

    1) Tanzania - wildebeest migration

Alaska and Delta breaking their mileage partnership is pretty shitty for west coasters. Alaska is obviously the best carrier out west but Delta is superior when you're flying east. Hopefully the recent Alaska+Virgin acquisition pays dividends.

Nope this is not part of a group tour, Im just traveling with a group of 5 friends.

Sumo tournaments sound like a great idea, how difficult was it to get tickets? Looks like the grand tournament wont be in town when we are there but maybe we can find an amateur match somewhere.

Shibuya and Shinjuku: quick google search tells me these are parts of tokyo, which I've been meaning to check out what parts of town might be best for 26 year olds. What do you like about these the best?

As for the rest thanks for the information definitely helpful.

I went to the sumo tournament, but I think its only held in Tokyo like 3 times a year. If not going on, I believe you can go visit for training, but not sure there's any matches. For neighborhoods of Tokyo I'd go Shibuya, then Shinjuku, then Roppongi.

Haven't hit the city as much as others on the board, but here are some other options my wife and I loved in SF:

Sotto Mare - really good cioppino, pretty small place
Toronado was cool, Zeitgeist is another good beer option if you get some good weather, has a nice beer garden out back
Bourbon & Branch (Wilson & Wilson) - speakeasy with reservations required, pretty cool, incredible/expansive drink menu

Golden bear mentioned Golden Gui and Roppongi as well so I will definitely have to check those areas out. Basically its a 3 day weekend layover in Tokyo before moving on to the Philippines/Vietnam so historical places/markets by day, bars/restaurants by night. Bonus would be trying to find those experiences you wont really get outside of tokyo like sumo, Japanese baseball etc.

Golden Gai is awesome. Tons of little bars down narrow streets. That's in Shinjuku. Shibuya is just the most central, and had tons going on at night and felt like you were "in Tokyo." Lots of lights, and crowds, and big buildings, etc. I stayed in Roppongi when I was there and would choose one of the other neighborhoods when going back. It's known as the most western friendly area, but it was too much so. Lots of western stores, a big mall, etc. It didn't feel like you were in Japan. Also, for some reason in Roppongi they hire African guys to work the doors of the bars and try to get people in. Basically the only time I got hassled by anyone in Japan. They try to get you into their bar and when you keep walking they insult you and call you a faggot. Was pretty off putting for such an awesome country.

In news that will be shocking to absolutely nobody, booking trains in India is proving to be an absolute nightmare. You have to register with the official India railways authority and get your account verified, but it's impossible to get a response from anyone. I've sent them probably 15 emails since before Christmas.

Getting my first taste of authentic Indian efficiency.

Might have to do with the merger with Marriott. I'd imagine there's a lot more marriott customers than spg, and now they can use their points to book spg properties.

There are so many hikes you will be able to find something enjoyable. Camelback (Cholla and Echo Canyon) are the most popular and if you don't want to deal with crowds, I'd steer clear. Squaw Peak is similar, but not as crowded as Camelback.

I'd recommend the North Mountain area, tons of variety. If you're in Scottsdale, I'd check out the McDowell Mountain Preserve (Tom's Thumb) and the Spur Cross Conversation (easy hike, but tons of good desert landscape).

    Some things to do:

    - Top Golf at Talking Stick Resort/Casino.
    - Walk around Old Town Scottsdale during the day
    - Walk the grounds of the Arizona Biltmore or visit Taliesin West
    - Drive north on Scottsdale Road to Carefree and Cave Creek. Cool little western towns.
    - Hike up A Mountain in Tempe.

    Places to drink:

    - OHSO in either Arcadia or Paradise Valley
    - Coach House in Old Town Scottsdale (oldest bar in Scottsdale)
    - Scottsdale Beer Company
    - Craft 64 (great pizza)
    - Postino

    Places to eat:

    - Buck and Rider
    - The Mission
    - Pig and Pickle
    - Stock and Stable
    - Okra
    - Baked Bear (dessert)
    - Blanco
    - Joyride Taco House

    Foods to try:

    - Sonoran Hot Dog
    - Chimichanga
    - Cheese Crisp

If you happen to be in downtown Phoenix, grab drinks at Bitter & Twisted (cocktails) and Angels Trumpet (beer).

I also recommend Brat Haus in Old Town if you like German beer and sausages. Little Miss BBQ is kind of in the middle of nothing near the airport but if you like good barbecue and don't mind standing in line for upwards of an hour it's worth the wait.

I can't remember a whole lot because it was almost 10 years ago. Definitely less touristy than the dalmatia coast. Not a lot to see besides a church, and a center square but I remember there was a street of a bunch of cafes and bars that was solid for people watching and then we just hit up a club after. Pretty solid nightlife. I do remember being pleasantly surprised.

If you can't get reservations at State Bird don't worry, you can go in the afternoon and wait in line for a table. If you are in the front of the line they will give you the option for a later time.

For the most traditional zagreb dish (strukle) - restaurant called La Struk. They only have that one dish but it's the only place where you can eat it

Other restaurants just serve anything so there's no special recommendations, just check TripAdvisor or tell me exactly what you want

    Medvedgrad fortress is really dope

Museum of Broken relationships is a must

Really fun place and in the city centre

Generally walk around the old City centre, from zrinjevac Park to the main square and the upper city

It's a 45 min walk all together and you see the entire old city core

Like Maksimir park can be pretty cool

The cathedral is huge but I don't give a shit about churches so I don't like it

For bars I'll give him a million places when he's close to going

For night clubs, Opera Club for sure

Also plitvice falls are the best day trip ever

    And Trakoscan castle
