There are cows everywhere. In the streets, in alleys, on the beach. They have the right of way regardless of the situation. This was the biggest one I saw, also in Varanasi. Spoiler
If I’m going to visit Austin with the girlfriend for a random weekend in May, what part of town should I look to stay in? TLAU and any others. Also, any suggestions on things to do? I’m on mobile so I’ll search the thread for the things to do part but apparently the girlfriend wants to have a good idea as to the place to stay today.
i stayed around east 6th was good, especially if you're wanting to hit bars/restaurants/etc and walk back to your room
Also, not sure if here or another thread but talk to me about getting access to the club lounges in a regular basis. Got it for the day today due to a flight delay giving me 5 hrs in Detroit and I'm not going to lie, I could absolutely get used to this.
CSR gets your priority pass lounges. Other than that you need a more specific airline card like amex platinum or status
https://www.prioritypass.com/en/loungesearch?entity=05819a0c-976e-49ac-8126-7d132d95a3ee poke around there, and you have to sign up and get a priority pass card
How did this trip go? The gf and I are looking at the Zilara now. We wanted an all inclusive and adult only with a swim up suite. We see that this place has all of that.
biased because I'm a south austin / downtown person some others on here are northies by "the domain"... for me I'd say get your air bnb search map up and look inside the square of: east/west - east of hwy 1 (mopac) and west of i-35. and north/south look - north of 290 and south of enfield road. head over here for things to do: https://www.the-mainboard.com/index...sxsw-tmb-idk-lmbo.94015/page-54#post-12856668 it all depends on the weekend tbh during the spring and summer there's some kind of festival or something every weekend it seems like
The trip was awesome. Many food options all of them being better than I expected. On the swim up suites be careful which ones you get as they are in the shade a good portion of the day and the water may not be as warm. I don’t want to write up a bunch but if you have any particular questions let me know. I would recommend it and my wife is pushing to return there sometime soon.
Going for 5 days the weekend after tax day. Got an Airbnb just east of Rainey. Seems like it should be a pretty good spot for eating and drinking which is most of the focus of our trip.
Responding to this so I can slide into your DMs when I have time and poke your brain on how this works.
There's no need to slide it's very easy. If you have a priority pass you get to go into the lounges And all of those airports if you have a flight and get free food and drink and Wi-Fi. Some are nice lounges, some are restaurants that you just get credit. Some are international terminal only, some have restrictions on hours.
I've found it very hit or miss. They're usually in terminals I can't easily get to. Hoping I'll be able to find some on my upcoming trip to Europe. I have sizeable layovers in Paris and Frankfurt. The one iat MSP used to be pretty nice (free booze, ok buffet, nice enough place to relax) but they recently changed it to the PGA restaurant there. Still get a $15 credit for food and booze so can't complain too much.
I was traveling with a group of 10 to korea and they let all of us in on my pass at Newark, Hong Kong, and Seoul.
ok, maybe I'm dumb, or maybe I'm a new parent that day drank all day yesterday for the tourney, but I can't find the free option\ for CSR
There isn't one. It's 450 dollars with a 300 dollar travel credit. That makes it 150 and then there are other perks that can bring that lower if used like global entry, etc
like you have a CSR and can't find how to get priority pass for free? https://www.chase.com/card-benefits/sapphirereserve/travel find lounge access, log in, click through
this is what I needed. I had to do it through Chase website. I was browsing around on the other site above like I had already activated it. Thank you for the honest response and not that smart ass ones others offered up
Cartagena bound. Running on three hours sleep and probably going to have to auburn play on my 5s screen, but other than that, real fired up
Spent a week at Jewel Runaway Bay last month. Second time to the resort. Great food and a kick ass water park for kids. Love going around the lazy river with beers in hand. One of the ladies that worked there noticed my love for Jamaican patties so she suggested she’d bring in some authentic local patties. Beef, chicken and mystery meat, as indicated by the green dye. The pic in my sig is a steel top... Red Stripe and a shot of Appleton Rum. Goes down real nice. Right before we left our government put out an advisory about travelling to Jamaica. We spent zero time in MB except in and out of Sangster airport. This dude with a gun was a checkpoint between the two parishes and didn’t seemed too concerned with anything.
Champ 34 looking at Airbnb's in Montreal, which areas should I look at? Looking for bars and restaurants more than clubs as I'll be with my gf. Quite a lot of affordable options I'm seeing with is surprising and welcome.
Booked a lot of Ethiopia stuff this weekend 3 day hike (1 1/2 each way) to the 2nd lowest point on earth behind the dead sea, the Danakil Depression in NE Ethiopia Spoiler Get back and stay at this lodge in NE Ethiopia for 2 nights: Spoiler With day trips to mountain churches/monasteries Spoiler Then down to Harar, far east part of the country near Somaliland/Somalia, first day is a Monday which is always a Camel Market in the desert. Thousands of animals, spices, firearms, all traded in the open. Spoiler And then feed hyenas Spoiler My flight back to the US is out of Cairo, fly there on July 5 for two days--going to see King Tut and the Pyramids before heading back.
nice, going to Rose Hall Suites in June for my sister-in-laws wedding. Resort has a similar family layout, will have a 16 month old so hope he has some fun while I put back some alcohol. (not that it matters, but that drink is called a Steel Bottom - red stripe + jamaican rum I'll blame it on the high number you likely had)

Another damn nor'easter expected to hit Boston on Wednesday when we're supposed to connect through there to Italy. United is already offering travel waivers, I'm wondering if it would be worth it to see if they can get us on a different flight out of Denver as ours is award travel
Looking for opinions on how to treat my Seattle to Beijing flight. I'm leaving Seattle at 5 pm Seattle time and landing in Beijing at 8:55 pm. Ideally I'd like to stay awake the whole flight (12 hours) to better acclimate to Beijing time, but that sounds like hell. Alternatively I could say fuck it and booze and consume weed pills to help me pass out. Then I might be fucked when I land. What do y'all think?
Originating out of Denver. Girlfriend was on the phone with them last night but the agent couldn't comprehend what she was trying to do. I've been trying to get through to an agent for over an hour today and haven't been able to
No way in hell I would stay up the full 12 hours. Regardless of whether you sleep or stay up, your internal clock is going to be upside down—no getting around it. I’d take some gummies right before boarding, maybe have a cocktail, then try and sleep for 7-8 hours, as long as I can (unless youre first class, it probably won’t be a good sleep). You’ll deboard at 9, aftee customs and transport you probably won’t get to your spot until like 11
I don’t think it’s dangerous, just a developing country. Outside of Addis is probably pretty 3rd world. It’s an up-and-coming destination in most travel publications. https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/ethiopia-africa-travel-next-big-thing/index.html
Well then Jamaicans are very polite because nobody corrected us. Rose Hall looks like a nice resort. And it’s maybe 20 minutes from the airport.
Only chance you have of somewhat acclimating would be stay up the whole flight since you take off at 8am Beijing time and crash as soon as you get in but being awake for that long sucks. Maybe pick up some of these pills too. http://antijetlag.com/ I've been using them for a few years, and I swear they really help with jetlag. The last few trips I have been pretty much able to get on local time immediately and sleep through the night. Have suggested them to friends, who also said they worked for them as well.
