Long story short, I am looking to go to England and potentially Scotland, Wales, Ireland depending on how things are worked out. Essentially, I am waiting at least another month until the EPL releases the schedule so I can figure out my travel schedule. Any tips on where or how to look would be appreciated. Traveling solo so fwiw
Usually the day the statement closes after you hit minimum spend So about 40 days from application Come to the cc thread, we'll get you traveling for free forever
Thanks. Already have a Capital One Venture card that I've had for a while that I use for travel. Had an idea last night while drinking to open up a Detla American Express and get those extra 40-50k miles to use.
Same only because there’s not enough time in the day to get shit done if I don’t work on flights. It’s gotten a bit better since AA sued them over poor performance but I’m still bitter
Go to awardhacker.com and plug in which cities you’re thinking of flying to and see which points you’d need and how many and can determine which cards to get based on that
So I don’t think they’re completely out of the woods, but this wet season + significant efforts by South Africa’s government has curtailed a lot of the water crisis in Cape Town. “Day Zero” was pushed back to 2019 https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...-brink-how-cape-town-cracked-its-water-crisis
Have a friend asking for Rome and Paris restaurant recs. Y'all are my most trusted resource so anything you got helps
Also would add these places to the list http://www.septime-charonne.fr/ https://cafedeflore.fr/menu/?lang=en https://www.mamashelter.com/fr/paris https://holybellycafe.com/ http://lebongeorges.com/ http://www.clown-bar-paris.com/
Ok #Philadelphia 76'ers #Philadelphia Eagles fans, tell me of your city. Wife and I are planning a trip in October to see Philly for the first time. She was a 5th grade teacher who loves american history, so we will hit up the mainstay tourist spots, do a tour or 2 (if there is one recommended) and take in the Eagles v. Panthers game as we are friends with one of the coaches and his wife from college. Planning a Thursday-Monday trip so we can see the sites and take in the game Sunday before heading back. My current knowledge of the city resides on this page - https://wikitravel.org/en/Philadelphia Stay in Old City to be near the landmarks? Any top restaurants I should know about? Note - wife will be 7 months pregnant for the trip so rigorous activity is likely out, but she is a workout instructor so we will be able to do walking tours and get around on foot decently.
check out this thread - https://www.the-mainboard.com/index...phia-people-school-me-to-your-city-itt.93160/ Old City or near Broad Street are your best bets for where to stay. are you planning on staying in a hotel? there's a long list a restaurants to go to, it depends what you're looking for.
thanks, had to run to a meeting but my next task was to search the board for a philly thread so thanks for linking not sure on hotel/airbnb. We've done both in big cities, sometimes its nice to have all the amenities of a hotel, sometimes it feels like you can get a nice space with more room to relax with an airbnb. will have to see what the wife is feeling for this trip
I've been working out of town all year and done zero trip planning. It's May and I have nothing on the books for a trip abroad. This is unacceptable. Someone who's already planned an awesome trip this summer let me come too please.
Sucky first world problem. Had my flight benefits yanked out from under me I've mentioned before that the company I work for is owned by a European airline, and when you reach director level you get flight benefits as if you work directly for the airline. I've used them on flights to Europe a good bit, but the real benefit for my wife and I was that we would use them domestically. For example, weekend before last we flew to Fresno on a Friday, hiked Yosemite all weekend, then flew home on Monday. Round trip flight cost $80 total. If you're smart about routes and timing it's pretty easy, and the gate agents are usually good about not sticking you in a middle seat, keeping you together, because they have benefits too. Well they just decided to end the benefit of being able to fly standby on other airlines, so now unless I fly to Europe my benefits are useless. Now I have to plan ahead and pay $$$ for tickets like everyone else.
I haven't taken any time off since January. But the 2nd half of my year is looking pretty dope. Alaska for Memorial Day weekend Ethiopia on June 21 Beijing/China/somewhere in Eastern Asia in early-to-mid October Looking like SA/Cape Town for NYE
Has anyone here been to St. Lucia? Going for a wedding over Memorial weekend and I know next to nothing about it other than it's an island. Would appreciate any info on stuff I should hit up while I'm there.
Need my credit card bros and American Airline Bros to help me out. So sitting on a lot of Chase points. Looking to fly to Nicaragua in August. Delta is direct and like $750. I dont have enough Delta points for this. AA I can fly through Miami and their website as an Economy AAdvantage flight for like 15k miles each way. I believe I need to have a AA specific Citi card to book these, right?? Can I get a CC, so I am an AAdvantage member. Then transfer Chase points to AA and get flight?? Is there any trick I'm missing with Delta thar I can somehow transfer my delta points to another carrier, then add to that with chase points and book direct flight Whew....lots of info
Transferring to united out of ATL. The UR portal was more expensive and the flights kinda sucked. But I didn't check the days around your date yet
I've yet to use any of my Chase rewards so sorry if a brother is slow.... I need a United (vomit) Frequent Flier account 1st, then just link them in chase or transfer to the number? Then book through United? Is the points transfer quick?
It's instant. Just go sign up for a united account, go into the chase portal, in there in the drop down there's a "transfer to partners button" click that, then click united, and enter the appropriate amount
