I must be fucking retarded bc this isn't working. AirFrance.com makes you choose a country. Are you selecting USA or France??? AirFrance.us doesn't have the flights
That's what I'm on. Do you have an account? I'm logged in and booking with points, which are transferable from Chase
Ahhhhhh I think I needed to "Book with points" vs looking for a flight. So this works now. Word. Thanks bros. I've got either 15k on delta or 17.5 on United. Just need to find best flight times and what works for me.
Arg. Was hoping to transfer half my delta miles to Air France....but that's stupid bc I can just book with my delta points. Delta has 1st class round trip at 65k.
Being greedy with your freeish trip. I like it Just get more cards duh. I want to go to Japan so I got a card that would pay for my flight to Japan. Fin
Need to be less lazy on curning cards. Need to get my wife on it too. No reasons I shouldn't get a card, refer my wife and have her get it then and double points every quarter
Anybody ever done Tanzania? I'm jumping on a friend's work trip and staying in Arusha for 6 days. Not sure that we will be able to do any longer safaris, but more of a handful of 1-2 day trips. Ngorongoro seems like the obvious must-see, but also have been looking at Lake Manyara National Park, Tarangire National Park, and Arusha National Park. The Chemka Hot Springs also seem intriguing. Any other parks or wildlife reserves worth seeing?
all of them. I mainly used it on AA but also used United and Spirit before. I seriously thought about it but we're going to Louisiana for my mom's birthday
I'm heading to Japan for a work trip in December and plan to leave the Tuesday before the week long meeting and enjoy Japan from Wednesday to the following Monday before the work trip. Then hoping to fly back on that following Sunday instead of after the meeting concludes on Friday.
Don't get too excited. My last four trips have been: Cleveland, Detroit, Knoxville and Cleveland. Though hoping to find a reason to visit our facilities in Mexico and Canada in the next 8 months or so.
We used a passport expediter site And it just came back but the passport has my wife’s old middle name listed If I change the plane tickets to match what her passport says, we should be ok right? Even American airports can take passports instead of drivers license?
Leaving on Wednesday for Hong Kong! Excited staying here on the club level: http://www.langhamhotels.com/en/the-langham/hong-kong/overview/ Then four days later catching a flight to Tokyo where we are staying here: http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/japan/hilton-tokyo-TYOHITW/index.html Pretty pumped about flights got all our flights including the third leg to Tokyo from Hong Kong for under $900 a person and they are normal flights. Columbus to Ohare to Hong Kong (United), Hong Kong to Tokyo (United affiliate), Tokyo to DC to Columbus (United). Flight from Chicago to Hong Kong is 16.5 hours woooooofff
re travelling companion or significant others.... Do you guys convert points to some fixed $$ value if you pay for flights with miles for a trav. companion, in this case a SO? It doesn't make sense for her to buy her own flight with cash, because value of points is very strong relative to cash price. We are pretty regular about covering our own costs and split most things down the middle. For context, RT to Jackson Hole. ~20,000 UA pts. cash price of like $580.
I think We had this conversation before because I wondered a year back I've done the following: Traded AA points for UR (at an amount about 3,000 less than if they got it themselves) Traded AA points for 1cpp Traded shared hotel points for the going rate -25%ish Traded shared hotel stays for things like tickets (like I'll pick up the hotel but you pay for the game, which is less expensive) Basically just find what works for you guys that you think is fair but err on the side of not greedy. It is your SO after all. I'd say take $400 so you get 2cpp and she saves $180
You could use the TPG valuations but I don't think those are much more than someone pulling a number out of their ass.
Maybe I'm more greedy than I thought. I wouldn't enjoy only getting $200 for that many points when saving someone that much money
I'd ask a friend to reimburse at the 1 cent/mile, or cover some hotels or something, but significant other I'd just give them the miles and not think about it. 20k united miles isn't that much and its saving a bunch of money for her. I do still periodically jokingly remind my fiance that she owes me a whole ton of chase miles for a business class international ticket I got her though.

PJP3 you're a more altruistic SO than I am if you are covering flights for a GF. at some point I'll push her to get some of these cards so she can earn free nights that I've used to put us up before Spoiler probably marrying at some point so its likely a wash

Hopefully the weather cooperates, gf said it's been pretty nice lately in Anchorage. I'll be in your city tomorrow night
Wowza. How long you there for? I'm connecting through DFW tomorrow so watch us be on the same flight to SEA
I’m at DFW now about to hop a flight. There for meetings through Thurs and then my wife is going to fly up Thursday night for the long weekend. Fly home Monday. We’re considering driving up to Vancouver Friday and spending the weekend there, or we might hike North Cascades, Mt Rainier, or Olympic instead.
sorry ive got the proof in here and for the small fee of 33% my lawyer ohhaithur will destroy you in court
For my flights tomorrow I booked through Alaska but the first leg is operated by American. I had to check in through American and get my boarding pass through them and I didn't get precheck like I should while it is on my boarding pass for the second leg. Two questions: 1) could American fix this and 2) when you scan your pass at security and it shows your information to the TSA agent while they check your ID, does it indicate if you have pre or not? My airport is small enough to where there's not an agent out front sorting you in the lines so I'm tempted to just go to the pre line anyways
