Awesome. Thanks so much. Looks like the first day of the markets is Nov. 20, which the day I arrive. Thanks again.
the castle on the cliff is sweet. they have a restaurant that claims to be the oldest in the world which was cool. great vibes city and just fun to walk around. we did a sound of music tour and me and EMAW FC wives loved it plus you see some of the mountains and it’s gorgeous
we liked Lisbon a lot more than Porto and Douro is beautiful and the wine is excellent. We rented a car and drove from Lisbon to see Sintra and then up to Douro in the same day.
Forecast was shitty but was lucky to get an hour or so or clearish skies at Milford Sound this morning
beautiful. glad you got to go. I think sometime the wife and I will go spend more time in Queenstown and try to fit it in since we couldn’t on the first try
The town I'm staying in blares a siren to summon their firefighters It's winter and basically every household is using their fireplace. The siren has gone off twice today and my immediate reaction has been "oh shit, tsunami" despite the fact that I'm not near the ocean
As GoodForAnother said, simply walking around the old town area is really awesome. The food is probably not going to blow your mind, but Barenwirt is solid. Meissl & Schadn had some really good food in a great location on the aforementioned Getreidgasse right under an awesome gothic catholic church. The Museum de Moderne is at the top of a cliff is a nice stop if you're walking near the big fortress. Hangar 7 if you’re into racing. Was closed for renovations while we were there. Also houses a 2 Michelin star restaurant overlooking the hangar
Salzburg was awesome to just walk around. Beautiful town. THEBLUERAIDER if you’re a beer guy, Augustiner is there and they’ve been brewing since the 1600s. Really good vibe, locals and tourists. I think Stiegl is the more popular one in town but I didn’t make it over there but it’s even older iirc.
I typically avoid flying around the holidays because nearly all my travel is work related and our family members are within driving distance. For me, I loathe the next six weeks until August. There aren’t enough pilots or flights, and any delay rips through the entire system.
