Yeah no split screen is the biggest knock on it. That and the long long text sequences whenever you start it up. And the convoluted voice chat feature which I don't even bother with lest I make some 8 year old cry for wasting time trying to paint one little corner of the map when he should BE FREAKING FOLLOWING THE GUY WITH THE RAINMAKER GOSH!
Should I get a splatoon bundle for cheaper and just buy Zelda or get the more expensive Zelda bundle that comes with Minecraft? Never played minecraft or splatoon.
I like minecraft but I would assume most people would recommend splatoon over it. Minecraft is like video game Valium
apples and oranges, I suppose. Splatoon is loads of fun. I mean it's repetitive and shallow compared to many other online shooters, the offline modes are sparse, the online set up is laughable, but it's addictive like few other games. "one match" becomes "one more match" and before you know it the sun has set and risen and you're still going. Classic Nintendo.
Switch came Thursday. Zelda and Mario Kart are incredibly fun. Video games struggle to keep my attention at my age but I played Zelda for a couple hours last night. The versatility of being able to take the game from TV to handheld is clutch.
It is so much fun that I haven't even been able to stop playing it for Zelda and MK. Classic Nintendo brilliance.
Plan on buying. Watched some Zack Scott play through and looks like a great little strategy game. Need something to get me until October and Odyssey drops
Mario + Rabbids is actually pretty great. I've never been into the turn based strategy games much, but I'm having a great time with this. Easy to pick up and play a few encounters, then do something else.
It's easy to pick up and has some solid humor. Glad I picked it up. Of course Odyssey is going to be awesome, but this is great hold me over game.
Massive Direct last night. Skyrim release set for 11/17/17 Wolfenstein II and Doom getting ported over Odyssey showed off more gameplay and a new world Project Octopath Traveler and Xenoblade got extended looks
Just bought SteamWorld Dig 2 today It’s fantastic so far. First game since BotW where I killed a full charge in one sitting. Have to be at work in 5 hours, not even mad.
Well after my switch collected dust for the past month, I finally binged out with it this past week. The indies are pulling me in more than the $60 retail releases. SteamWorld Dig 2 was fantastic. I’m going to start a new game after golf story and go for 100% Golf Story: very unique game. Super addicting. It’s a golf RPG. Sound crazy? It is, but it’s a ton of fun. Mario + Rabbids. Yes it’s Mario: XCOM Edition...and that’s a good thing
FIFA is really good on Switch. It’s missing some features that its counterparts on the other consoles have and is on an engine separate from Frostbite but the gameplay is still rock-solid and it runs super smooth. The only bug I’ve encountered is some Italian players seem to be missing textures so there’s a green and blue checkerboard pattern where their skin should be.
I can confirm that Steamworld is fantastic to play in portable mode. I bought Golf Story but haven't started it yet.
The idol? Have you gotten the shovel wedge yet? I had the same issue, but it's an extremely easy fix. Go to gear and then equip the shovel wedge and talk to the archaeologist. I ran all over looking for a damn shovel, but it's just your wedge.
It was a crappy oversight by whoever made the game. When I got the shovel wedge I assumed it was equipped.
I think the usernames aren’t unique, and that’s Nintendo’s fault. So yes, still have to do it with friend codes unless you’re close enough to use an airdrop-esque feature.
