I just cant. Ive tried. I'm sure I'll buy, play and enjoy it eventually but its not marked on my calendar.
I'm the opposite. Most Nintendo brand games are like masterpieces in my book. There's just so much attention to detail in each one, that even after I beat them, I'll come back to them 6 months later to restart it and play again. Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Mario Kart, and Smash are all "mark it on the calendar" type of franchises for me.
Coach from Golf Story is a tragic figure and has more emotional depth than all Call of Duty protagonists combined
Got to play some more Golf Story yesterday. I’ve played maybe 3 hours total, but it’s a really fun game and I feel like I haven’t conquered much of the story line yet.
Mario getting perfect 10s all over the place. id imagine someone with the game will want to start a thread on that given the depth and amount of collectables.
they were just streaming it. got to watch like 5 min of it then they had to cut off cause their fire alarms were going off, lol. game looked outstanding.
Finished my first hour of Mario. Great great title. What a year Nintendo has had and it's not even Halloween.
couple of questions for the thread were either of the sports games worth buying? how does rocket league play? same for skyrim
Enjoy completionist paradise. I spent my air travel over the holidays just hunting for moons in Odyssey and it was spectacular.
Do you mean FIFA and NBA2K? Both were well-received. Well actually NBA2K was a turd out of the gate but a patch has fixed the problems. It's good now. Rocket League was perfectly ported. It lost a hair graphically, but you'll never notice because the gameplay is so fast-paced. Skyrim translated great, imo. Rarely ever a lag, good graphics (for an older game). You didn't mention it but DOOM also turned out to be an amazing port. I still can't believe they squeezed it into that system. Lower res is the only real gripe but it's a minor one.
Typical rule of thumb (since say...Gamecube) is don't buy a Nintendo console to play 3rd party sports games. It's usually always 'fine' but the demand typically isn't high enough for developers to take advantage of whatever unique aspects of the system is. It's typically a port with slightly worse graphics and frame rate and maybe a couple of less features. But if you don't have another console and just need your fix, I'm sure it's fine. But don't expect the latest and greatest.
Yeah that's the worst thing about the Switch; tying saves to your user account. I miss the days of choosing one of three save slots.
reminds me of when I let some kid borrow my Pokemon Red Cart and he started a new game even though I specifically told him not to. I was at like 145 Pokemon and had a completely stacked battle squad. I fucking hate you Dan Bailey.
You haven't had Chrono Trigger in your life? Sad. You should find some way to play Mario RPG to ease you into the genre. But if you're the kind who enjoys taking a month to read a good book a little at a time, you'll enjoy JRPGs. Mostly easy-breezy gameplay, some great stories. The first Xenoblade Chronicles had a twist at the end so incredible I had to pause the game to process it for a good ten minutes.
There’s a lot of depth to it, but I wouldn’t let that scare you off. You’ll have plenty of fun even if you don’t totally know what you’re doing. It is absolutely fantastic.
i get it, totally do but on a scale from the witcher to persona xenoblade is definitely closer to the witcher. you'll be fine.
Haven’t played that either I’m about an hour into XC2. Not bad so far. I’m sure it’ll pick up once I get out of this “starting area”
I haven’t played bayonetta but apparently it’s one of the GOAT games so I’m pumped about 1,2, and then 3 coming in a couple months to Switch
Thankfully I checked the data management and I have a save with all of my moons. I'm now up to close to 800
Ok, I’m fully enjoying Xenoblade. Thanks for the recommendation Question, what other games are like this that I should play?
first games that come to mind are star ocean and eternal sonata. not switch, but still the same kind of rpg thats not too japanese. i think the older star oceans are best. looks like the last hope was recently remastered for ps4. i enjoyed it a lot. not as good as til the end of time but much much much better than the most recent. worth playing. eternal sonata was early last gen, no remaster. top tier rpg though
