Cross dressing to get into a city still makes me giggle to this day
Cross dressing to own the libs
I don't play much multiplayer anymore and a lot of my switch gaming is traveling and whatnot. Is smash Bros worth it as a single player? Is it even any fun?
The RPG board game type like mode to unlock fighters and spirits with a rock paper scissors style spirits to make you stronger is awesome. A ton of variety on the 70 something fighters each match is different from the enemy being giant to the floor being lava.
Just grabbed it, smash, and a pro controller. Haven’t played since GameCube, who will come add me and kick my ass?
BoTW came today.
It almost doesn’t matter what my expectations would have been, they’re shattered. I may not play another game until summer.
I picked Shovel Knight back up after giving up on it for a long time. Glad I did because it’s pretty damn charming. It’s brutally difficult though.
Love that game. That's how you do nostalgia
Went back and played a bit of the original Zelda and it’s amazing how many assets they’ve stuck with over the years (obvious graphical fidelity aside)
I've never played Pokemon except Go on the phone. I really want Let's Go for some reason. Guess out of curiosity more than anything.
It's probably good for novices. I'm waiting for the core RPG that will be coming in 2019.
its like a mix of Go and Core right? The whole game is collecting, leveling, and fighting other trainers?
I don't know what Core means, but it's basically Pokemon Yellow from the gameboy, with a lot of features from Pokemon Go
Pro controller $55 on amazon
that's tempting, especially if it works with Raspberry Pi/Retropie
USB knockoffs of original SNES/NES controllers for this iyam
What's the difference between a pro controller and the one that comes with the system
Pro controller is similar to a standard console controller. One that comes with the switch is just a small handle for the two joycons
Oh hey, the Master Sword, sweet. Just gotta pull it out.
run into a Lynel yet?
My first Divine Beast was the Zora one, so I faced the one at the top of the mountain.
Haven't had a rush like that after beating an enemy in years. Shield-smashing his charge like a boss was awesome.
The boss battles in that game were incredible but not overwhelmingly frustrating. Like some games have hard battles for the sake of being hard to point it feels unfair. The Divine beasts were just all so well done.
What I love about BOTW is how easy it is to say "this is a perfect game" and then immediately thing of a dozen things they could do with this engine to make it better.
Wifey is getting Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and Kirby Star Allies from me for Xmas. I’d planned these purchases about a month ago when she was really getting into platformers and games with lots of collectibles.
To my surprise, I come home from work yesterday and she’s on the couch hacking a boss in Hollow Knight to bits. Now I’m wondering if I should’ve gotten her Dark Souls and Diablo.
Hollow Knight is so fucking good.
Smash being absolutely epic has solidified my opinion that the Switch is the greatest console ever made by far.
An example of why BotW astounds me:
I had finished the Rito Divine Beast, bringing me up to three, and went back to get the Master Sword, so I start thinking I’m hot stuff and have settled into the game. I happen along my second Great Fairy Fountain and try to upgrade my Champion’s Tunic, only to be told I need two shards of Farorn’s horn.
“Who the fuck is Farorn?”
To keep a long story short, I stumbled onto the Shrine of Wisdom dragon quest, which led me to realize the green dragon in Lake Hylia was Farorn (Green = Farore = Courage), which led me to the Shrine of Courage, which led me to now looking for the Power Dragon, and 10 hours later, I’m sucked right back into realizing that there’s still a ton I don’t know about this game
Is the power dragon the red one? If so that's the one near the giant dodongo skeleton, if memory serves.
It is; I remember seeing him before, but I don’t remember the skeleton.
I’m also trying to get the last few memories, then it’s gonna be Goron time baby.
I played 5 hours of it back in May and then stopped. Picked it up again today after wall mounting the new tv and I’m already 3 hours in with no end in sight
i know its like a year after it came out but its been hard for me to gauge from reviews if doom is actually good or not on the switch. im not a huge graphics nerd so having it lower res doesnt bug me much but if there are framerate issues and other problems with performance i'd like to steer clear. fwiw i thought skyrim was great on switch. should i buy or nah? i loved it on pc but didn't play it far and want something to do handheld.
Yes, as long as you’re cool with the lower resolution. I recall reviewers mentioning some very slight frame rate dips but nothing that affects performance/experience
as long as it plays like doom pc i'm cool with it. i can handle missing a few scars on arms and decals missing from guns
I’d say you’re good then. Just a matter of if you’ll prefer handheld or docked
I think I fell out of Zelda the first time because I was playing it hand held. Now that I’m playing it on the tv, the size and splendor of the world really come into play.
I need to finish Zelda. Pretty much all I have left is the final fight
This has been me for the last year and a half. I don’t want the sense of finality.
Which one of you pussies wants to feel the cold and unforgiving steel of Simon Belmont?
Defeated Ganon last night. Immediately started Master Mode, but debating if I want to go back and finish the other stuff in my original file.
Enjoy the lynels on the plateau.
So we’re set up now. We have Odyssey, Smash, and Mario vs Rabbids. What are some good little kid (5 yr old) games to download?
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze...great game for kids as well as adults...and you can play co op
I haven’t really played much Nintendo since the 64 and I’m having all sort of issues getting used to the ABXY being backwards from the XBox controller.
I received undertale and katamari Damacy for Christmas. Both games are great. Undertale is a lot funnier than I was expecting. And katamari is pretty much a clone of the ps2 version with improved graphics. This console keeps pulling me back in.
I tried the demo for katamari and those controls were awful.
You just have to get used to them. I played a lot back in the day so it was like riding a bike. It was probably shitty when I first played in 2002
Just so weird controlling the guy instead of the ball. Very hard to deal with at first.
Some good deals on eshop, grabbed hollow knight
And Rayman Legends definitive edition for $15.99 is an absolute steal
