Absolutely insane deal for those who don’t own Odyssey and want a pro controller (or an additional one.
If anyone is looking to add another version of the game to their library, The Witcher 3 on Switch plays very well. Granted the graphics aren’t going to be there, but handheld is a game-changer. I sat up in bed for a couple hours playing it last night, and had some amazing dreams afterwards.
odyssey is a glorious celebration of the franchise with a super fun capture mechanic, and BotW is as engaging of a sandbox as I’ve ever played in
2021 could be a fun year. BotW 2 is likely. A Zelda triple pack like the 3D Mario release, seems likely. Metroid is a possibility, as well as a rerelease of the Metroid Prime Trilogy (big for me, as I never played it). What else?
I think you nailed it: BOTW2, some kind of Zelda compilation for the 35th, and something Metroid. I think we're more likely to get the Prime Trilogy than Prime 4, which seems like it won't come out for another two years at least. Nintendo always has something totally out of left field, so who knows what else they have cooking. I keep holding out hope for a proper, no gimmicks, on-rails Star Fox game.

I have had BotW for like 5 months now and haven't played it yet. I'm trying to save it for when I go on a long trip and I'm going to be away from the PS5 for a while. Buuuuut....yea the world is falling apart and I don't get to go anywhere, so I just keep waiting.
BOTW is a gift during the pandemic. Start it now but my advice: turn off the map, don't use a guide. Just wander around and let the game happen to you.
I know I know. I still have a bunch of games on my list because I don’t have a ton of gaming time because life responsibilities. So my list still has things like Last of Us 2, Persona 5, etc. And I’m also kind of preparing to dump my home gaming time into Cyberpunk.
My wife bought me a switch for Christmas last year and Zelda. She has beaten it twice and I’ve never picked it up. It’s hard for me to get into games that I will want to binge bc lack of time with work and baby. Feels bad man.
It's crazy how you don't realize the upgrades in graphics until you go back and play an old game. I remember Gran Turismo after seeing it on PS2....went from looking like real cars to nothing but polygons. Anyway, Mario 64 graphics are hopelessly outdated after seeing Odyssey
Well, Donkey Kong Country on SNES was another. Fired it up on virtual console and was like, remember when these were the crazy cutting edge graphics?
I find N64 as a whole mostly holds up. It feels just like a fun console you would buy for $99 with a bunch of games but it doesn't feel "dated" to me like PS2 does. Like the art style for N64 still works and is just as fun.
Haven't checked into this thread in a bit. Upon review I wanted to share a relevant anecdote with you. I got married to Allison Brie about 5 months ago and we haven't had sex yet. I'm trying to save it for when I'm really horny because I hurt my wrist masturbating too much. Buuuuuut.... yea my wrist just keeps getting stronger and stronger, so we just keep waiting.
very true but I would even say 3rd party n64 games still feel good like WWE No Mercy and some of the more arcade style sports games. Just something about that system where they could be 3D but not "too real" gives it staying power where it doesn't just feel like nostalgia and its boring after 5 minutes. Sadly though Goldeneye is one that doesn't hold up as well.
High aspirations for graphical fidelity generally don’t hold up well, especially for human character animations
DKC remains a landmark achievement in graphics. The amount of stuff Rareware squeezed into that cart is, still, remarkable.
Sort of seems like I bought myself a Switch Lite for my wife. She was really playing up how slow the GUI is now on the OG Switch so I finally said “just go grab mine”.
I got Immortals Fenyx Rising today and it’s pretty great so far. It’s kinda like BotW set in Ancient Greece.
Shout out to the ones who would get lost as hell on every Mario level without their bff telling them where to go
Yes. Have them sign in on each other’s consoles. Older sis will make younger sis’s Switch her primary console on her account and vice versa. Then they just sign into their own account on their own Switch and they can access the other’s game library. This works great as long as they’re on WiFi because I believe any digital purchase they’re playing pings for an internet signal every 2.5 hours.
Any of you buy/download Among Us on switch? I've seen a lot of people playing it on stream and it looked fun. Got it for $5. I'm enjoying it so far
I just got a switch 2 weeks ago and mario odyssey is the greatest game i've ever played that is all, for now
If the only games you ever play on the switch are Mario Odyssey and BotW, it’s worth the price of the switch alone
They added new games to the NES and SNES virtual console. Wish they would add games more often, seems like they add games at random
I got that as well. I got the bundle with Kart. I also grabbed Mario all stars bc I never played Mario galaxy
Great game play along with a great story which makes it stay fresh and engaging even after a hundred plus runs.
