It's very much a trial and error thing. I enjoyed it. It was old-school in that way. It's one of those fights where, when you finally beat him, it'll be because you were perfect and you will feel like an absolute badass.

Do you mean like a reference site?

That would probably be Smogon. They run the Pokémon Showdown software and do tons of analysis, builds, stat calcs, etc. in regards to competitive stuff.

When it comes to knowing moves, egg groups and other breeding info, Bulbapedia is the way to go.

Every generation does a little more to make it easier for the people willing to put the effort in for it. I suppose in many ways I’m partial to the X/Y generation because it was the first one where I started taking the competitive scene seriously and imo was easier to train EVs with, but I would say in regards to quickly identifying IVs and acquiring hidden abilities, this is the best one so far.

Completed Scarlet pokedex, got to masterball rank on ladder now I'm just waiting for Pokemon Home integration so I can bring over my 6IV chinese ditto and my old shinies.

 

Btw if people want to get other version exclusives, there's a community organized online trading system for it:

In link trade: type in the format as [4 digit scarlet pokemon number] [4 digit violet pokemon number] when you enter a link code.

So for example, if you play violet and you want to get an Oranguru, you need to put up a Passimian for offer and set the code as 03130314 (oranguru's pokedex number - passimian's pokedex number)

 

You can also get version exclusives in raid battles if you go through online.

It’s more work, but they also tend to be higher quality.

 

paradox mons aren't in raids, and eiscue are only in like 3 star dens, which no one hosts.

If you pre-order Zelda, does it ship on release date? Or does it ship early to arrive on release date? Probably won't be a big deal but curious to know how they handle big releases since I don't usually go that route

Im stuck with my class C card. Supposed to go meet someone in Britinia but I have to have a B card. I’ve done everything at windmill place and the beach. Says I have 0/2 punches though. Think it’s glitched

 

I think I just got to this point. You should need two complete punch tickets in your inventory to upgrade from B to C (hence the 0/2). I haven't done the beach yet, but my last punch on my 2nd card was an excite bike type of race. It's at the train station just up the cost from the hotel, when you enter that world, it says its closed but you can find the track if you go right. You probably need to buy the bike at the mall first, I already had it so I don't know what it says if you show up without it.

After that, you go back to the license store in the mall and get upgraded to a class B.

 

I have been playing Sports Story. Game has moments but this is not Golf Story. The complete lack of direction at times (if anyone figures out how to play the lumberjack in tennis let me know) and the bugs/system restarts are incredibly annoying.

 

Yeah, I got way past that now. For some reason the computer wouldn’t take my punch cards. Reset the game and it worked.

 

I like the diversity of the activities, but it falls short of Golf Story and can be buggy. Pelican Waters was a fun area and the ending dungeon was fun.

Yeah game is borderline dogshit, and the dialogue drags on forever. Fortunately they seem to be working on a patch, so if you insist on playing, probably best to wait

 

Besides Pelican Waters the rest of the boards are very meh. The tennis academy is almost impossible on figuring out what to get next etc.

 

I will say the game has me motivated to go do Golf Story again though

 

Sad to hear it’s a step back from Golf Story. Loved that game

Im now soft locked in sports story and can’t go further. Guess I’ll delete, download golf story and wait on a patch

 

I got soft locked in a train car in Pelican Waters last night, haven't had the heart to fire it back up and see what I can salvage

 

I took my time with Pokémon and think everyone here kinda breezed through it but if anyone would like a Sprigatito, Fuecoco, or Charmander, let me know

Just found my Switch that had been lost in a move 2 years ago. I’ve only played BotW and Mario Kart.

what else do you guys recommend? I saw a mention of Metroid at the top of the page and used to love those games

any recommendations for games to entertain a significant other? She likes Mario kart and Sims. Can only play BotW for ~15 minutes before she rage quits. Apparently there’s too many buttons so any fun games with very simplistic controls (big Fall Guys fan on XBox) those rec’s would be great and give me more time to play Warzone and FIFA

 

Wife and I really enjoyed playing Super Mario 3D World. Cooperative setup with relatively simple controls

 

If you like to rage at each other, I recommend giving Overcooked a try

 

Metroid is good, but hard. Golf Story is a fun time killer. Super Mario 3D world and Mario Odyssey are cool too. Splatoons are pretty cool multiplayer games but can get stale.

 

Just found Rain World and my kids love watching me die all the time in it. Pretty fun but difficult game.

 

BoTW when you’ve waited for night to end just to have rain start at dawn

 

I’m doing a replay now and forgot how much anxiety I got over item durability.

 

I’ve adjusted finally as the game progresses. You beat a guys ass til one weapon breaks then you take his weapon and use it on the next guy. It’s very annoying coming from previous games though

I have the master sword now and haven’t swung it once because I have to save it :/
