still think wenger's biggest mistake yesterday was the last two subs. other than that, i thought the starting lineup was fine, and we just didn't get some calls, coupled with our poor finishing, and xhaka giving it away cheaply that killed us. not quite ready to call for formation and lineup changes, outside of kos and alexis coming back with tank moving to his natural lwb just one masochist's opinion
The mid-forwards starting lineup was fine, the backs weren't. Easily the biggest worry for me vs Liverpool is Mustafi starting at RCB, him vs Mane will not be pretty. Let Kos play there and Mustafi through the middle.
i mean i'd rather not have 2 makeshift cb in the back 3, but i don't think they were bad or anything. probably didn't get the best out of either of them playing them out of position, but i don't really fault either of them for the goal. think jese scores that goal every time, regardless of who was in the back 3. completely agree with you here though. mane is going to make mustafi's life hell for 90 min if he's the rcb.
i also think mustafi probably should have played in a u23 match before being thrown in the fire like that, but that may be just me. i get why wenger didn't go that route and fast tracked him though.
Why not play Hector at RCB and Ox at RWB? I think Hector would do better than Mustafi against that lineup. Actually, wouldn't be surprised to see a back 4 against that lot.
I think I would play Mustafi, but tell Bellerin to be more defensive than usual. pretty much drop into a back 5 without the ball. doubt Wenger would be that pragmatic though.
Haven't watched much of Pool yet, could we not sit deep with Kos-Per-Monreal and play on the counter?
They aren't creating like last year yet but Mane and Firmino can be special Can beat them but need a better game plan and team shape
ayeee http://news.arseblog.com/2017/08/wenger-reveals-reason-behind-walcott-introduction “I wanted to put Walcott on because he can cross for Giroud,” he said. As it was Walcott made no crosses and his only involvement were three short passes in the 15 minutes or so that he spent on the pitch.
Listening to Arsecast, irritated all over again. Team has no structure, switch back to a back 4 probably imminent because formations are hard.
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/aug/21/lukas-podolski-legal-action-breitbart-migrant-gang WTF, didn't realize that was actually Podolski
Yeah if you zoomed in you could easily see it. He was wearing all Adidas shit. Someone tagged us in another thread.
The Stoke game still has me all kinds of pissed. I know I shouldn't be, as we've been a predictable, mis-managed side for awhile now... It's going to be a painful 2+ more years of Wenger
