also doing a rewatch recently has made me realize how shitty of a human Andy is and really drops the series lower in my standings. I'm PnR >> Office full disclosure May be a hot take for some, but he is an annoying dupe that is over the top, tries to crash and burn multiple careers/relationships and just flat out sucks
His character was funnier earlier on in the series than it was in the later form. He worked better as an incompetent, northeastern elitist Cornell grad salesman than as a bumbling, awkward manager.
while i agree, his first season was also painful. He manipulates michael and gets dwight fired and divides the office. He sucks
I always feel like an Andy stan when I cape up for him, but its really hard to judge his tenure as manager because Ed Helms was filming movies during half the time he was manager. hard to develop a character when half of your storyline planning is making sure you can work around his movie schedule.
just saw that - that is crazy to me. in no way shape or form does it feel like 5 years has passed. still a great finale (great final 2 episodes really)
Nellie’s first appearance interviewing for the manager position is kinda funny Nellie in Tallahassee is bad Nellie as manager is horrible Nellie as employee back to just bad
I maintain that the two most unrealistic things that occur in the series are: 1. Pam not knowing the words to "Closing Time" 2. Nellie not knowing what a taco is
It is slotted in at #3... but come on... white girls LOVE 'Closing Time' and tacos. It is absurd to pretend otherwise.
Seriously how much time he would have spent, some of the most time intensive: Garden Party Book Red wire Dwight's desk in the bathroom Dwights desk and everything made of wrapping paper Learning morse code with Pam Holy grail treasure hunt I'm sure I'm forgetting some
Quad Desk Dwight Impersonation Magical legumes putting everything in the vending machine Fake death in tally also red wire. no chance that was only 500 feet of wire. Had to be at least 5k to make it out of the building and all the way up the telephone poll
They just mentioned it I think it was in conflict resolution. Along with paying everyone in the office to call him the wrong name and a few other pranks can’t recall.
pam ruined the keys prank jim was adding a couple keys a day to dwight's janitorial key-ring until his pants fell down. she laughed when she saw him doing it and dwight saw what was happening
Andy just declared he was headed to Tallahassee to get Erin... GODDAMNIT BERNARD, DON’T DO THIS TO US.
yea, but all it required him to do was bring altoids to work then offer him one every time jim turned on his computer. Most other pranks required hours of prep work
Ok so it wouldn't be hours of prep but still weeks/months to pull off. That's still a lot of dedication and patience
update on the Andy sucks train- went on a boat for 3 months, blew off Erin by cutting off all communication, gets mad when she finds another man and STILL keeps his job as manager boooooooooooooooooo
as much as I dislike andy, this is one of my all-time favorite office scenes. Watched it the other day and was dying
