if you're on fi, make sure and open the email they send you and play around. $10 google play credit in there (the christmas tree). sounds like theres gonna be 4 weeks of this, so hopefully each will include at least a little present.
So I have a curious development to report. My XL's battery life has been incredible. I mean just great. Until today. It'd gotten down below 15% and I charged it up to 50%. Within an hour and a half of that, using it about as I normally do, it was down to 17%. Really weird.
Got a few Pixel XLs on order. None are scheduled to ship this year I'm going to give one a test drive and see if I can leave the iOS ecosystem.
Depends on what you are looking for. Do you detest manufacturers skinning the shit out of Android? If so, that limits your options down a lot, but they are mostly all good options.
I'm in month 11 or 12 of Nexus 5x. It's untouachable in the $200 range (via FI) but I'm setting my eyes towards the pixel or a discounted 6p to hold me over to the pixel 2.
I wish Google would do a discount like Verizon did on black Friday. I'd pull the trigger in a second.
Very tempted to do Fi. Have to go overseas in a few weeks and just need to pull the trigger. I have a grandfathered TMo unlimited plan, but really never use more than 3GB of data a month. Wife is being stupid about her 5s on TMo, but will probably just drop her down to their $30/mo plan and then go to Fi anyway.
I'm back. The iPhone 7 plus was pretty underwhelming. My coworker is letting me use one of our test pixels. My XL should ship in 2-3 weeks. I forgot how great stock Android is.
What was underwhelming? Particularly interested since I have been considering making the switch in late 2017/early 2018.
My Pixel XL was fucked this morning Damn thing wouldn't even turn on for starters and when it did I had to go through the setup process of entering all of my gmail accounts Half of my apps in my drawer show the green Android guy Came very close to doing a factory reset
If you have a DayDream download the app Fulldive VR. You have to download it from the store outside of daydream but then must access it through daydream but its pretty sweet. Lets you access any video on your phone and has a lot of apps on it. Also has a browser. Lastly I couldn't believe this was on youtube but there is a 360* video series called dreamdate. Its you and a girl in a hottub.
yeah vr market alone on fulldive makes it a must have app for me. VRVT beta is a better video player imo, especially since fulldive won't play 3d for some reason, but anyone who wants to watch porn without paying $2 for vrvt app fulldive will work great.
I've had every iPhone model and I'm just bored with it. The 7 is the best looking phone to me, but the OS is buggy and apps crash a couple of times per day
You expect us to welcome you back with open arms? You leave for months at a time without so much as a letter and then you just show back up and expect us to be OK with it all? 6 months ago you went out to get a gallon of milk. You just came back. And you don't even have milk!
Is anyone else's chrome beta occasionally sticking to a certain part of a page (can't scroll up or down) until you refresh?
Was enrolled in the Android beta in my 6P. This past week my phone has been freezing up a lot and the only solution is to restart it. One time it froze up just minutes after restarting it. Ended up unenrolling from the beta last night and setting up the device as a brand new one, not restoring any server-side backups. So far so good after about 28ish hours. Anyone else been having any freezing problems lately on a Nexus/Google phone?
I had suspected it was a new app I installed or an app update since it just started this week and I hadn't gotten a system update this week as far as I'm aware.
Sorry I forgot about this post. I haven't really been on since mid-December thanks to busy times at work. Poland and Germany. I waited too long, though, so I'm just sticking with TMo till I get back. That said, anyone have a Fi referral? I'm literally filling out the form now and am guessing you get a discount if I use the referral, too. Finally, iPhone question. My wife has a 5s and is complaining that one of her sorority sisters in her group chat has an Android and is the only person that "can't get messages". "When she writes back, we always get her message as a separate one." I'm guessing this is some iMessage thing? She doesn't really want to go to Fi unless I get that addressed. Finally, should I do her for a 6P or a 5x? 5x is cheaper and what I have, but I know it won't make a difference really.
Maybe this is why: Referral Program Terms This referral program ends January 11, 2017 and is subject to these terms. Each eligible referral gets the referring user and the referred user a $20 referral credit after the referred user accepts the referral and activates a new Project Fi account for at least 30 days, including paying for 2 months of service on that account, for up to 10 total referral credits per user. You understand and agree that both the referring user and the referred user can see each other’s names, contact information, and referral status, such as purchase and account activation status. The referring user and the referred user are only eligible to receive a referral credit if they both maintain active Project Fi accounts in good standing for which they pay a monthly fee. Group plan accounts are not eligible for this referral program. Referral credits may only be used for your Project Fi bills, excluding taxes and regulatory fees, and are not transferable. If you cancel service, you will not receive a refund for referral credit. Your participation in the referral program constitutes your acceptance of these terms and conditions, and your use of Project Fi is subject to the Project Fi Terms of Service. Offer void where prohibited by law.
