That seems to be pretty standard... Ordered mine through Goodlettsville store and it shipped today to be delivered Thursday.
I was worried but I got my XL 2 today and it seems fine. I like the look and feel so far. My wife has had her pixel 2 for a week and has been very impressed.
There's an argument to be made that it's image retention and not burn in. My brain started hurting after about 30 minutes of reading about it so I just stopped. I have no fucking idea what to believe at this point.
After watching that video I may reorder. I got scared with the stories but it doesn't seem that bad. I also like the camera and the lack of bloat on the pixel.
I'm fucking torn. I'd definitely roll the dice had my 6p not been such a piece of shit. Now I'm a little shell shocked.
I've had the Pixel 2 XL since Monday and the blue shift was pretty obvious right off the bat since you're dealing with the white Google setup screens so any tilt showed the blue shift and actually kinda strained my eyes but once I had stuff more set up and was just using the phone it wasn't noticeable since I, you know, look straight on at my phone when I use it. Haven't seen any kind of burn in yet but am keeping an eye on it and will just swap it for a Note 8 if I see anything or get too worried by some other issue that comes up. The most annoying thing for me right now is I can't figure out how to have a notification LED blinking. The always on ambient screen thing isn't visible from across a room and I leave my phone on my desk at work or at home sometimes and like to just glance over and see if there's a blink when I'm running around doing other stuff.

On the Pixel 2XL and I love it. Color looks fine. Yes blue tint when looking a angle but unless it's a full white screen it doesn't bother me. Hoping the screen burn doesn't happen.
That's the kind of thing one shouldn't have to live with even if they don't mind it when the phone costs $850
Just watched MKBHD's review, and it was very positive of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. He mentions that he hasn't had any of the reported issues except for the blue tint from off-axis viewing.
But you don't have to live with it, like MKB said if you're going to nitpick any flaw because of the cost of the phone while ignoring everything else it does so well then this is definitely not the phone for you.
Setting up my pixel XL 2. Definitely looking at the blue shift but we'll see if it bothers me. Google is now giving 2 year warranties on the phone. I havent kept a phone that long in forever so I'm just probably going to stick with this one
Ok I really like this phone. Super snappy. Portrait mode is awesome. Also camera now has slow mo which is nice too. The active edge/squeeze is meh. I will be buying the earbuds.
I'd like to see some real world tests of the earbuds for that live translation stuff. Even if it was amazing it wouldn't make me want to buy it more, I just think it is super neat in concept
Yeah I just am hoping they sound really good and the fact the case charges them is cool. I am also skeptical of the language translation
Mine came today and I've been playing with it a little. There's a lot I like about the phone but I don't like the screen. I did a good bit of side by side comparing with my iPhone and the muted color thing just isn't for me. Going to order an iPhone X tonight and send the pixel back. I think Google is on the right track. Just need to tighten shit up a bit and hopefully next year's offering will be the one to bring me back.
Phone is really sharp performance-wise. The blue tint on an angle and muted colors(I like natural, I spent a lot of time on all my TVs settings to look realistic. Not a fan of super saturated, cartoon like colors) affect me not. As long as the burn in was overblown/sporadic and the screen holds up with time I'm more than happy. I've had zero speaker issues also.
Anyone else have issues with screen sensitivity with a glass protector? This thing is driving me nuts
This. Don't love the screen/blue tint but I'm more a performance guy. That being said I'm trying to talk myself out of dropping 2k on a Yoga 920 because its one of the first ultrabooks with a quad core and shitload of ram so I can do segmentations of MRI's and CT's but now that I finally have a job and will basically get my salary multiplied by a bunch less than a year, the no interest 12 month financing is calling my name.....
Manufacturers warranty being doubled to two years on all pixel 2s worldwide is clutch. My CC (Chase Sapphire reserve) extends warranty one extra year, so I'm covered until Oct 18, 2020. That is huge. I can hardly imagine going from pixel 2 XL to the pixel 5 XL. Random: no HDMI out via USB C DP alt mode, on 8.0. Benson said support was a "To-do" i but that have been for the chipset and not this phone.
My pixel 2 XL 64GB just shipped. It shipped from 40 minutes from my house yet won't be here until Monday. Perfect.
I've had mine since yesterday morning but can't activate it because Sprint won't let me use my sim card from my OG Pixel. they are shipping me a new one since I don't have time or the desire to go to a Sprint store, but it won't get here until Monday
I gashed my finger the day I got the phone. The finger print scanner blows and I'm not sure if it's the cut or the scanner. It will open like 5 times in a row and then won't work for the next 10.
Not sure if I should send it back. The fingerprint scanner just flat out doesn't work in apps. I can get it to unlock the phone ~60% of the time but in apps it's probably closer to 15%. Sucks because my screen is great.
Anybody find any good glass for the Pixel 2XL? Zagg is out of stock, none of my Best Buys have any, and the Verizon glass I got sucks.
I bought standard screen protectors (skinomi 2 pack) on amazon for $10, as a holdover until my favorite product (Spigen Tempered Glass) arrives for the 2XL. Someone on another forum quoted Spigen as saying 1-2 months to availability.
Problems with the fingerprint scanner on a Google phone are not normal. Scanner is generally fantastic.
Anyone aware of shipping dates moving up sooner from what was in the order confirmation email? Ordered a white 64GB Pixel 2 on October 9th, date in the email was November 27th. Hoping they might be going out sooner than that to get the trade-in of my 6P moving.
I had my fifth LG phone need a motherboard replacement in 23 months. I told them to fuck off and got the Moto Z Play. It's not the fanciest phone in the world, but do you know how nice it is to never have to look at your battery?
